If you cant afford an attorney, see if you can borrow the money to hire one. Parents? Inlaws? Boyfriend/Husband/Partner?
Look up traffic attorneys and call to find out if they can get a judge to modify your driving record. Explain your situation and explain that you need a clean record to get hired. Play the poor me sob story. I did, but I was lucky enough that the attorney I hired was on good terms with everyone that I needed to be persuaded. It wont be cheap. But then how much is it worth to you?
Clean record and you will be better off when it comes time to send out resumes.

I had to get my child support caught up before I could even think about hiring an attorney. Matter of fact right after that I couldnt afford to pay insurance anymore. I was on a downward spiral.
The screwed up thing was after I got custody of my daughter back, I was still stuck paying child support for 3 more months before I could get it stopped. Ex said she didnt get any money when I asked for it back. Umm,.. yeah. Then at the end of the year they took $1800 from my tax refund and sent it to her because thats what I was still behind. I had bought a car trailer from her father and told him soon as I got my tax refund I would pay him off. Well,.. he got his money. LOL. Then a year later my ex father inlaw was the best man when I married my current wife. Talk about Jerry Springer.

Meridianchic,
Here is what your going to come up against. Some companies have zero interest in looking at anyone who has even one infraction no matter how much or how little over it is. They don't care that it happened in a car because when you have a CDL, everything you do whether it's in a car or truck, etc all go onto one record. I am sure you are aware of that, if not, you are now.
You can call and talk to any number of companies, England, FFE, etc and explain the situation and see what they say. Here is my advice, just be honest and do not sugar coat anything and if they ask what seems like dumb questions, don't get an attitude like you did here.
You have to understand something about this board. Alot of new student drivers or wannabees come here and are dumber than dog #### and they come across that way and I am not saying that about you, and because of this, many here just look at new people as they are. If your going to make it in trucking, you better get a thick skin because there are some real winners out there.
If you are really wanting to work for Empire Express, call them back and ask for the recruiting manager, mention that their requirements are this and that and you don't understand why your being passed over. I will say this to you. It may not even be the driving record thing, it may be job history and rather than get into a lengthy discussion, it was easier to use the mvr thing.meridianchic, semi retired semi driver and Wild Murphy Thank this. -
you must be eddie Haskell . lolWild Murphy Thanks this. -
Do some companies just need the speeding ticket to be over 3 years old ? Maybe get on with someone for now and a better company after your 3 years are up'
Seems like I see some companies say no serious traffic tickets in 3 years. Not real sure about all of this though and I am not a driver. Good luck !!! -
Try USA Truck. I was hired by Crete with a 51 in a 35 on my record. But mine was also only a month from falling off. Also had a no fault accident where was hit from behind while stopped at a red light. Couple companies said no but majority said yes. Good luck.
