Ok definatly once you guys get loads into this area it seems like it is a flood of them as I am now seeing my 5th truck within a 5 hour period.
Also Jaso if you do stop off and visit your parents on the way to Miami be aware that we have a 80% chance of rain tommorrow and there is a traffic shift south of MM 260 or 574 MLK Blvd in Tampa. -
It's been one of those days.....This house is nothing fancy and built solid, everything except for the plumbing. The downstairs kitchen and laundry room look like they used leftover parts. Way to many elbows and crazy plumbing.....the laundry room flooded first, then the little kitchen and which ever line is clogged up is still clogged up. Been working on it for two days, I guess I am going to have to give up and call a plumber.
And, did you know that mastiffs drool? .....especially males. Took a shower got all cleaned up after dealing with this mess and my dog decides to shake his big old head.....think "Turner and Hooch"....slobber went flying ....all in my hair. Gotta love country life!

In West Palm Beach service plaza on the turnpike. Not even a preplan or an acknowlegement of my empty call. Oh well, enough. They kicked me out of Publix. Violated my 14 when I sent my empty call. Safe Havened my empty call and PC'd here. Thank God this leg of the trip is over. Got my tractor washed today, first time since I got it. It looked great until the puddles in Miami got it. $56. Got the rain x treatment. Cant afford to do it all the time, but once every three months, yeah I can justify it. Deuces.

It won't stay pretty long, More of this rain is forcasted through the week. And wow its a good thing I am not bound by HOS rules with my current job, Just finally getting home after a 0730 start.

George, you didn't violate your 14 just by sending your empty call! Rest easy! You are allowed to be on duty past that 14 hour mark, just just cannot be on duty DRIVING past the 14 hour limit. After sending your empty call on duty, you must log a full 10 hour break before your clock resets to drive again. All you did was undo any break you might have started sitting in the door. And since your not dispatched, you are also in the clear to PC to a safe place to shut down ((the nearest place, not some desired truck stop 300 miles away that is 10 miles from your next pickup... not that I have EVER done something like that...)). Safe Haven, however, is technically an HOS violation. It is the elog version of a flagged situation on paper. You ran out of hours at a customer and we're told to leave the property so you moved to a safe and legal location. In the future, use PC whenever you can get away with it.
Like today, I unloaded in Lakeland and once empty, I chose to PC to the Loves in Auburndale to sit and wait for my next dispatch. I chose PC because I was not under dispatch and at that point was not en route to a shipper or receiver. I was on my own time choosing to drive across town. Ultimately that should have been changed to on duty driving because as I was hitting my exit, I got load info and was dispatched to pick up at Coke later in the day and because I am now being paid for the miles between Lakeland and Auburndale it shoukd be shown as on duty. However TransAm won't care or say anything about it.
I had a pretty good day overall. Had to unload at Colorado Boxed Beef in Lakeland first thing. Got up just after 0500 and sent a polite message ((seriously, it was nice)) requesting that they stop blowing up my phone and my satellite, that I have my day under control. He said I should have sent my arrival call and they woukd have bothered me and I told him I didnt send a 008 because I wasnt at final, I was at Loves and I asked him if he wanted me to send my 009 from Loves too? Mike was sitting trying to argue that I would now have a late load and I basically told him to kiss it because he was wrong. CBB is a first come, first serve free for all from 0500 to noon and you could check in over the phone. They would not consider me late unless I tried to show up after 12. Still, I called at 0530 and was told to head in and I would have a door when I got there. Took about 2 hours then I went back to Loves to top off the reefer since I would be getting a Coke load later. I was pulling out if Loves when another TransAm driver asked where I was off too and I said I was going across the street to get a washout when the BBQ place opened and then was gonna camp out for a few hours til my appt at Coke. One guy said the guys were already washing trailers and they both said they got loaded early at Coke. I called shipping to try my luck too and they said to come on in!!! Score! Got there this morning, got loaded, and had enough time left on my 14 to get to Loves in Mossy Head, near my mom's house. This load is due to deliver Wednesday night in Cleburne, TX but since Coke got me in early I am way ahead of schedule. I'm gonna hit up my DM in the morning to see if she will flag me for swap bait to try and get me some more miles this week to make up for the last couple of crappy ones.

I used to think I would eventually get taller .....didn't happen, most 10 year olds are taller than me.
Truthfully, my dog is taller than me when he stands up and puts his front paws on my shoulders ...
I didn't even tell you all about the big old snake that was under my jeep today.....ugh......I don't like spiders and snakes! Tomorrow I need to finish cleaning up this mess and call a plumber and hope he can get out here and get this fixed. I need to do laundry and I have two kitchens, one upstairs and a small one downstairs the drain lines for both of them are tied together .....so my kitchen is out of order too! ...and the best local plumber makes me nervous......The Queen has not found this day to be amusing!
jaso36, dennisroc and gntorres61 Thank this. -
i order pizza every now and then and I give them my number so they can come to me. usually tip them a little extra.

George, HB is right, you can be onduty for 70 hours straight or more as long as you don't drive before getting in a 10 hr break

Jaso, the Jets almost pulled it off. Looking better than my Dolphins. I don't get it, we knock around the pats and haven't done anything since except get embarrassed.
Franklin OH at the pilot.
Queenie, maybe you should've used that snake to clean out your drains.
Panhandle flash, gntorres61, jaso36 and 1 other person Thank this.
