With respect if this is all it takes to make you rethink your decision then maybe you're right, you're not cut out for trucking.Things like this happen everyday, sometimes its the trk drivers fault and sometimes the 4wheeler.One of the parties gets angry an then both go about their business.Sounds like you're blaming yourself and no accident so why worry about it?

Sounds to me like he really does not want to work and is looking for any excuse to quit and maybe look like it was a noble decision...

Repeat after me......" would you like fries with that "

Maybe I am looking for any excuse but maybe I'm not.

The fact that I MAY have screwed up driving in a car shows me that I'm not cut out to be a trucker ,and thats a fact. If I can't be in full control of a 4 wheeler how can I be in control of a tractor trailer

    EDIT:111th post ,#### yeah!Also have 11 thanks !Day of the 1's

Dude, I find it harder to drive a car than a big truck in many ways. I also think driving a big truck can be safer in many ways. I've got a lot a examples to support both of those statements. I'm not saying that driving a truck is easy, or easier, or safer than a car, but in some ways it is. Don't make it out like driving a truck is something magical, it's not. It's mostly just concentration, determination, and the honing of skills. In other words, if you really want it, you'll probably be able to do it. But you really gotta want to DO IT.

    Nice.

Your at the bottom now - may as well start hanging some pictures. With an attitude like that, you'll be there for a while.

Wait!! Whoa!!! All this happened in a car and not a rig??? Dude grow a pair, seriously. You are freaking out that cops will come get you. They woulda by now. Like one of my instructors said before, "just drive the ####### truck." Today I was told to go to customers back gate on a very narrow two lane. Pulled in and gate closed. Couldn't make a turn at angle I was at and guard couldn't leave his post to open gate, instead of hiding behind my mamas skirt. Got GPS to see where I was, found road I was on would take me back to the main road. I backed up a bit and pulled out. Yes I hit a few tree limbs. No biggie. Dropped load and parked for night. You have to have a short memory.

A tractor trailer ran me off the road recently, it was like you said, changing the lane on a curve. I was lucky because I was paying attention, took evasive action right away, and there was a nice big empty shoulder to escape to. The trucker did eventually see what happened and he looked embarrassed. It was, fortunately, not a big deal to me, but I hope that it made him think more often about safety.
