Will be seeing my parents in about a half hour. Just securing truck right now. I put the tv on and sunshade in windshield and keep 2 interior lights on so it looks like someone is in truck plus I back trailer doors against this concrete light pole. Don't have to leave till 0700 tomorrow so I get lunch and dinner with my parents maybe a few laps in their pool. Will check in later.
HTQ good luck with the plumber. I hope you get someone more professional to show up at your house.
Ghost I didn't notice any amour vans but did breeze right through those construction areas, just a little slow down but no slower than 30 mph.
Be safe out there

It was a just in case, was supposed to be heading to Parrish earlier but those plans got changed overnight. Though kinda wish I was running yesterdays schedule today as about this time was heading through Port Charlotte on my way to Cape Coral, could have swung in.
And that is a good idea about leaving the TV on with the shades drawn, I use that when I go out of town with hotel rooms all the time.
Most importantly though enjoy your time with your parents. I know my mother would be wanting to see me whenever I pass through, and I would be lucky with my father as he is in one place that you love Chicago.passport220, jaso36 and dennisroc Thank this. -
......That explains his attitude!.......and the fact that I am still waiting for him to show up!

Is anyone on I 70 in Missouri? I hear there is someone attempting to jump from an overpass at about the 123mm.

jaso, have a wonderful time visiting your parents!
I am still waiting on the "Drain Surgeon"....sigh
In the meantime I found a little publication that some of you may be interested in. It is the quarterly magazine published by the CVSA.....they call it The Guardian. There is an article about the new medical card requirements and several other things that may be of interest. I hope this link works.....

Like the Cranky one said, got a Coca Cola Auburndale at 5 yesterday afternoon and had to be there at 1845 from Fort Pierce. Still had to get load locks. But EFS would not authorize my check. Got some fuel, turned the reefer on and departed without load locks. CY only older black gentlemen were at the Pride. The girls must be back in college or working at the nearest HOOTERS. The gps sent me on a different route which was a lot better since I didnt go through Kissimmee this time. Stopped at a Pilot in Yeehaw Junction for my load locks. Took over 20 minutes for an auth so put it on my debit so I could get out of there. Night dispatch could be better staffed seems to me.
Got to the Coke plant and I was a good two hours late and the guy said they may not be able to load me, but within a few minutes I had a door. I hate backing into those guide islands for the docks, but once in they promptly loaded me. In my happiness, I forgot to slide the tandems back up and realized it when I got a mile from the weigh station, so I promptly pulled over and tried in vain to slide those suckers, but the trailer brakes would not hold it (load was 43000 plus) so I proceeded onto and hoped for a bypass signal that did not come. I was well past a turnaround point and I wasnt gonna back down I4. The man called me inside so in I went in with my registration book BOLs and CDL. He says you look a little long, and I said sir, I am sorry, but I cannot get my tandems to slide forward. Sure enough. 44 feet. Tandems were slammed to the back as Coke asked me to do. He wrote TRANS AM a $100.00 citation, and the gentleman said this is not yours and it won't affect your record. I said, thanks, texted ROADCALL in three hours later TA road guy shows up, squirts some oil to loosen the slide up and put it one hole in front of the meathole.
On, I went. Stopped at the FLYING Jin San Antonio and scaled it. It was legal but less than 500 lbs under on the drives and 31k on the trailer. Tried to slide them again. Still wouldn't hold. Tried disconnecting one air line, then both airlines. Still rolled. Took off for my fuel stop in Ocala 73 miles away and got just 50'gallons. It was 6am an I was tired. Texted ROADKILL again and Tessa, my DM. Was ready to start my 10, but sent me to Petro 10 miles away to readjust slack adjusters and got it to slide two more holes in front of the meat hole to get me to.33k. Went to bed. Just two hours left on my 10 now. This load is going to Melrose Park Illinois for Saturday but was supposed to swap in Dalton GA at 6pm tonite. I am 420 miles away. Guess they will have another swap. Stay tuned. Deuces.passport220 and dennisroc Thank this. -

George sorry about having a tough day. I watched the guy last time when he adjusted my brakes. It is real easy just need a wrench or socket. It is worth it to me just for the time saving aspect. Also for fuel and weight it is about 8 pounds per gallon. I hope you get swapped off that load
I just finished my visit with my parents. Good home cooked meal and my Mom just retired so she is a little bored and came back to the truck and we played Yatzee for a little bit. I am exhausted been up since 0200 but don't have to be up till 0600 EST tomorrow morning. Have 169 mile to drive with a 1200 appointment but no preplan on me yet so no hurry plus will be sitting on 2,900 + this week. I hope they get something on me before I am done unloading but no worries.
Be safe out theregntorres61, HometimeQueen and passport220 Thank this. -
