I agree , the Koreans hate the fact that us contractors work here and pay no USA or Korean taxes.

But they all want to work on base , better wages than the Koreans pay and most weekends off.

Some Koreas don't like us being in their country but when the North starts talking about firing nuclear missiles seems like that are okay with it then, lol

Let me know how that Thai bank account works out. I might transfer a little money just to make sure everything still works. I leave a little money in my US account but most get transferred every month out of the country.

I got a letter from Indiana department of revenue saying I owe $ 4,350.00 in back state taxes from 2011 and I told them I have been here in Korea since 2006.

They asked me if I have kept my Indiana drivers license and I said yes. They then told me that was the reason. WHAT !!!
I Guess I just need to show my Korean license to clear this up. Crazy people ! :(

^ The reason we don't have to pay taxes when we are in Korea is due to a reciprocal agreement. Plenty of Koreans working in the US tax free due to that agreement.

I have not done anything with my Thai account for about 2 years. From reading the experiences of others on a Thai form like this one, makes me think I will have a problem. I will likely be able to get my money back when I visit in the winter but will not be able to use my account any more as they have changed the rules due to US pressure.

Good luck working with the Indiana revenue officials. I am sure it will go very smooth and you will be treated in a fair and reasonable way :biggrin_25524:

Thanks for the video Queenie. Interesting when he was talking about the legal environment being worked out. The styling looks like something from the original Star Trec TV series. Maybe they will require drivers to ware that same style shirt while lounging in the automated cab.

Picked up my current load in Buffalo, NY. Now in Ohio, on my way to OK City.

Heard about this before. It's amazing. Being new, I think it could open up a major can of worms, good and bad. Like, does that give drivers the option to goof off: surfing Internet, playing games, etc.? Seems there would still be driver accountability, but bet many would fall asleep on the job. Time will tell. Next thing you know, there will be no drivers, and several trucks will be operated by remote computerized mechanisms at a central location. Interesting!

That's one thing I've always done is if I get home a day late, I stay a day later. Always make sure you get your right amount of time off!

Almost 24 hours I have been sitting here in the staging lot at the Walmart DC waiting for a new appointment. Seems extreme for being 90 minutes late on account of traffic. Somebody up there doesn't like me and is teachng me a lesson. Lesson learned. Crying Uncle. My weekend at home is shot. Outta food, almost outta data too. Or at least my monthly allotment. Only move I made was to take the truck across the street to fill the reefer up. Whatta drag!
