I maybe America's newest home owner. I just closed on a small place in Des Moines. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet. It does not really need a lot of work to move in, but I do want to upgrade and spruce it up. Seemed like a lot more fun when it was just the idea of it ... now that I will actually have to do the work...hummmm.

I bought it as it is just off of I-80 in Des Moines, figure it will make a good home base for a lot of trucking jobs.

I'm surprised George hasn't updated about his truck, but then he is a bit out of his element after being out of commission for 3 days now. So, after working on the exhaustline due to the regen not resetting (some new part was replaced for that, confusing) and then not being able to start the truck, they discovered a leak in the exhaust line and had to order and replace another part. About the time the work should have been complete, they found out the alternator belt tensioner needs replacing too! So, my beef is (and I do want his truck to be in good running condition to keep him safe), if Trans Am is a priority customer, how much longer would it have taken for a non priority company driver to get their truck fixed?! Three days!!!! He is still there and hopefully will be leaving soon.:biggrin_25510:

jungho if you can just go and pick him up and when it is ready you can drop him off. There might be a lot of problems that they haven't found yet and he could be home while they are fixing his truck. Just a suggestion.

Congrats passport on your new home. You will now never have nothing to do

Great idea Cranky... a club house, just what we needed. Wonder if there is truck parking near by?

^About 500 yards walk from the place we could park trucks to the front door of the club house ... wait, I am not going to turn it into a club house just yet!

I closed on the house a day early, my next scheduled load was already set for a day more than I wanted ... now I have about 2 and 1/2 days wait for my next load. I already told my DM I have early avail, hopefully something will come up for tomorrow.

I ended up in Des Moines, it was just the right house for the right price but I really liked Newton, IA as a nice community, right on I-80, just east of Des Moines. You can get a lot for your money in Newton, I still might look for another house there in two or three years.

I spent 5 days at the KW shop in Lakeland, Fl last March, waiting to get a Regen done. No parts needed, the process only took about 1 hours once they had it in the shop, it took 5 days before they could even get it in and open the hood and look at it.
