I understand what your saying .. I been thinking that also but I think with everything that they pay for
: Fuel discounts , Fuel taxes , Plates , Scale , Tolls , it weights out to around 1.38-1.40 loaded and empty ..

Well all i would like to say about ups is they will keep you out . I am out of fontana and been here about 22 months and i cant stand it . They will let you sit and rail there freight or put on an outside carrier before you . The company drivers harass the o/o and so do the terminal supervisors and have lost hunders of hours waiting for them to fix there junk traliers and the shop dose not want to work on them so you have to waite for an outside vendor to come out to fix them .now i have made some money there but the cost is to high to much time away from my kids.

I called ups freight about leasing my truck on to them.
$.90/mile plus .43 fsc (all miles).
    80 percent east coast freight.
Comdata card. She didn't know if they had discounts.
10-14 days out, then 2 days off.
She said I would be hauling in/out of customers with a lot of drop/hook. (I had thought it might be a lot of terminal to terminal).

I talked to a upsf owner operator a few days ago. He said he is getting approximately $1.35/mile. He said fuel discounts are about $.20-.40/gallon. .Lots of east coast, but they do run 48 states. He said he runs 150-160 k miles/year. Mostly terminal to terminal. He said they have some guys who take alot of time off, and upsf is ok with it. Mostly night running. Loads are 500-670 miles/load.

That's appx .90 a mile plus .45 fsc. At an average of 6.5 mpg and an avg of .30 fuel discount, that is around an extra 4.6 cpm, making for a total of 1.396 per mile. Not a whole lot unless UPSF is picking up a lot of extras like plates, fuel taxes, tolls, and a biggie, correct dispatched mileage. Most places use practical or HHG, which will rob you of 8-13% of your revenue, which can add up to a lot of money over a year.

I think upsf pays tolls and supplies the base plate. I think they pay practical miles. And their loads usually aren't heavy.

Pay raise is a good thing. Practical miles also.

I talked to a upsf owner operator about 2 months ago. He had been there 8 years. He seemed happy.
He said they are liberal on time off. He said runs are 500-670 miles /night. Lots of eastern states.
I checked their website. It doesn't say what they pay. It used to say $.90/mile plus fsc. If they raised their pay $.12/mile I think they would make sure to advertise it.
Maybe $1.02 is for the west coast.
