If its a lease it is not your truck legally, it belongs to whoever is leasing it to you. If you perchance the truck at the end of the lease it is then your truck.
This is standard with any lease argument, not just ones in trucking and is the difference between purchasing and leasing.
You can write off all lease payments on your taxes, if you purchased it you would need to depreciate it as an asset instead.
