They go to the lower 48 and Alaska plus Canada . We've been thinking about travel trailers but what about delivering motorhomes ? Are you allowed to sleep in them ? I have heard of husband wife teams where the wife drove a motorhome and the husband pulled a travel trailer to be delivered on the same route .
Are you allowed to sleep in the RVs?

That is an interesting question.
Our company has a "no personal use" policy and they told me once that it included sleeping in the motor home. -
It looks like 2014 will go down as the year they suspended sleeping in the units. With your best discretion it was OK as long as you did not try to use the facilities. Several delivery drivers use their own bedding. Most of the bedding in rvs now is in plastic bags and not set up on the bed.
Roadmedic: I know you were looking into this with the company you deliver for. What was their response? -
It seems kind of a grey area. Nobody said I can't but they didn't say I could either.

Thats been the general conclusion this year. It seems that most of the delivery companies let this fall by the wayside. The old adage - dont ask - dont tell is now the norm. Even in some of the on-line Q and A;s on companies web sites are saying its closer to OK that Do Not.
At the end of the day it adds an additional level of safety to the driver if they can get a good nights sleep. The back of a pick up is not the best option for a good night sleep. -
I hope you are speaking for yourself, I find the bed in my truck is a whole lot better than a freezing cold or roasting pan tin box.
On another note RM won't be answering your questions.lastone in Thanks this. -
Yea . I dont think RM is around anymore. His last post was back in June 28th around the time the site admin closed down one of the thread. He was being a little too snarky. Your right - I was speaking for myself. I only run during the season, (April to end of July). I did the truck bed thing the first year. Im sure being 61 and 200 pounds has a lot to do with it. I dont take a good nights sleep lightly. If its not in a unit - its in a hotel.

You are one of the three reason he's left this forum.lastone in Thanks this.

Well-I'm sorry to hear that. He brought some insightful comments of the current state of our industry. Its disheartening to here that I was one of three reasons he left. I always felt that he could hold his own. Best of luck to him in the future.
