Got a swelled head, doesn't she? Problem is, she may be right....... but....... only maybe!!!!! Lol

 

^I have always thought it is weird that Indianapolis and even Ft. Wayne show some of the same problems of other urban areas. Weird as Indiana is always thought of as the wholesome Midwest. Don't see the same kind of problems, at least not to the level in cities like Des Monies or Omaha. Truck stops in Indianapolis are not as scuzzy as the others we have mentioned but for sure need to keep an eye out.

The bad news, I lost my preferred load to a swap. Got an empty in return. The good news, my truck is fixed ... yeahey!!! Sucking up the last hour of hotel time then will go down and see if I have a new assignment.

Here in Albert Lea MN, at the Thermo King getting the APU worked on. Finally stayed on the eighth time but then cut off again this morning. Got a load in Worthington headed for Elkhart IN but doesn't pickup until tomorrow early morning so might as well take care of the APU. It was 35 last night and it has been cutting off for quite awhile now even throughout the summer so its been overdue to get worked on. Also got a preplan after this load picking up in Miller IL going back to Lenexa KS. Stay safe everybody. Deuces.

 

Hey Deuces, of course you want to get your APU in good order but just a heads up, if you are stuck in a jam, you can run the heater alone without the APU running. You'll want to get the battery charged up as soon as you can but you should be good for at least 8 hours running the heater alone to get you through a cold night.

The good news, I was assigned a carbon copy of the good run that I lost. Same shipper, same receiver, will get to go by my mailbox and the clubhouse. The bad news, I have to wait a full 24 hours doing nothing until pick up time.

 

^ It is fairly common to see warning signs and pictures reminding drivers to chock wheels and be sure you have a green light and are truly clear to pull away from a dock. Also to remind drivers to turn off all of their trailer lights as some old style lights generate enough heat to start a fire in the insulated padding that outline many docks.
Some shipper/receivers have full bulletin boards filled with entertaining pics of what happened after silly mistakes.

It is a good reminder as no matter what goes down, it will be the driver's fault.

The news is a little bit "better". CNN is reporting the kid did have a gun and got off 3 shots before the off-duty officer fired back. That will not stop the protests but hopeful it will allow cooler heads to prevail.

I am not blind, despicable racism against people of African decent does exist in this country. The answer is not indiscriminate violence and racism against another group of people.

 

Still no solution figured out as to why the APU keeps going out. Tech says everything is checking out. Still is poking around in it. Was hoping to get to Worthington before sundown to vet trailer washed out and dropped, then bobtail to one of the three truckstops. The tech just came in and found three loose connections so hes tightening them up and then I am gone. Sweet!!
