i ran across a driver from Bohm Farm and Ranch Inc based out of Salinas, KS. i was wondering if anyone has heard of this company. i talked to the driver and the dispatcher (in person) they run on paper logs and from what i can tell is that they run their trucks illegally (at least the driver i talked to does) they get paid by percentages. Their willing to take students right out of CDL school with no training at all. They offered me a job right on the spot if i would leave the current company i am with now. i asked the dispatcher IF i did leave to go to work with them if they would run me legal. He basically said it was my choice on how i want to run....One story the driver told me was that him and 2 other trucks hauling cattle (mind you they are over the legal weight limit) they coming up on scale and they tried to bypass it the 2 other trucks got stopped by DOT and the he said he went up on a on ramp and stopped turned the truck off popped the hood open called the dispatcher and explained to him the situation and told him to send out a roadside assistance a dot officer came and asked him what his problem and is and he told the dot his truck died on him and that he coasted up the ramp. when the the roadside assist guy got there he told him he needed his fuel filter changed. needless to say the driver got away with it....Any thoughts or opinions on companies like this one?

Yes. Stay the hell away from them. There's no reason to run illegally any more.

Stay away from these companies. I got in with one and soon found out how cutthroat they are to drivers that want to run legal. The dispatcher said run like you want, but when you are not getting done what they want because you are running legal they will make your life hell.

Think of it this way. Why risk your livelihood working for companies like these? Your CDL is the most important asset of your career, don't risk it running with these types of companies.
