I work for UPS but am still a casual. I have no interest in leaving UPS but as a casual I have from January to July off next year. Newbie thing. I am looking for companies that hire temp stuff and might be willing to hire for the 6 months downtime coming up. Anybody got some direction to point in or suggestions?

Drive for FedEx for the other 6 months

That would be a hilarious resume.

Why not just find the best job you can and dont say anything about the 6 months. Then when time comes to go back to Ups just hit the road.

That is not the right way to do things. The OP apparently wants to do the right thing. Too bad more people are not like that

Do you think that if a trucking company was going to go out of buisness they would give you even 1 weeks notice? I was suggesting the op do the right thing for himself and get work asap. Most companies dont expect most new hires to stay more than 6 months anyway.

No unfortunalrly I would not expect the company to give notice. But that is exactly what is wrong with this country today. no one has respect for one another, no respect for emploiers or employees, no respect for other drivers on the road. Its every man for himself and screw everyone else to help yourself
