Hey bonzai, I just started with an excvating company and they are at it for about twenty years or so, they tell me the heavy equipment operaters are a dying breed, should be a good place to look for work, the drawback. It costs about as much to school as for a CDL. Good luck.

Someone may have asked this already, but I am a little short on time today.
Have you gotten a copy of your DAC report to see what exactly was reported?
Zero tolerance policy is pretty strict when not involving other vehicle or load............
Keep looking, a smaller company may have to do for a year or 2.........to earn trust in the industry again.
Please check you DAC to see what has been reported (their may be other things on your report you don't know about............
Good luck to you................J

Are you sure now?It might have been a CEO of an oil company after he got his bonus.

OK Bonzai,
I have read through and caughtup.
I have a couple of questions to ask in order to maybe add a couple more suggestions........
1. You stated you and other driver were cited, do you have the police report?
2. Were you charged with anything on your license.
3. Does your company have a right to sue clause in your employment.
4. Have you talked to a lawyer at all about the circumstances regarding the accident, injuries, w/c, etc.
5. Did you have short/long term disability with your company?
6. Has a doctor classified you as disabled? And or to what extent.
7. Are you currently under any physical therapy program?
From what I have read you have some recourse and still have time since this just happened recently I believe.
Just a couple of things to look into..................
This type of situation is very sad to hear, this is one of the few industries where something that is relatively minor (in comparison to deaths, lost of limbs, $100's of thousands of dollars) can someones life come apart as a result.
Bonzai I pray for you and wish the best for you. Only you know all of the circumstances regarding the situation, we can only advise, comment and recommend based on the information we have.
We are all at risk, and should take measures to protect ourselves.
Because as you can see and I am sure you have heard in other places, drivers being turned on by; company, victim, justice system, even society. We are so needed and so disregarded especially when things go bad, even when not our fault.
