I'm a driver with 9 months experience considering Western Express flatbed dedicated Alquippa account. They are 1 out of 2 companies that will hire me with an accident on my record, the other is USA Truck. Western Express said they would get me home every weekend and pay me .55 to .60 cpm.. is it true and do they run legal?

Home every weekend with Western Express is a myth right up there with unicorns and honest politicians. Before you commit to one of the worst flatbed outfits in the country (in my opinion), try Fraley and Schilling out of Rushville, IN (terminal in Brilliant, OH, just south of Stuebenville, OH) or Builder's Transportation Company out of Memphis, TN. Depending upon the severity of your accident, they may be willing to take a chance on you.

One minor accident in your first year isn't a career killer, especially if you learned from the situation. It is certainly not a reason to join a bottom feeder like Western Express and destroy both your career and any joy you currently enjoy in trucking.

If you are willing to give us the details of your accident, we may be able to point you to other outfits. If not, I understand. There are those on this site who are absolutely perfect and have never had an accident, incident, or even been lost in their entire careers. You can find them real easy, too. They are the ones making $1,000,000 per week and fart rainbows that smell like Irish Spring soap.

There was a bad glare on the windsheild as I was turning onto the interstate on dot safety blitz week and the next thing I knew, a guy in a car hit me goinng faser than the speed limit.. but I got the blame. This happened while working for roehl trans.

You know a company like Western Express is sketchy as hell when they're spamming Craigslist multiple times a day looking for drivers.

Go with USA Truck as first choice, then Western Express as 2nd choice.
Several drivers post on here, they make good money with USA Truck.

Edit:the big Cent-per-mile advertised by companies includes various bonus pays. The actual pay may be .35 cpm, but add in fuel bonus and other pays, brings it up to, say, .60 cpm. So, plan on .35 cpm for budget purposes because many of those added pays may not be achievable every single day.

Great! 55 cents a mile. What? 1800 mile/week is typical? Much of that 55 cents may only be obtainable in the 3rd week of leap years that end on Teusdays?
