TransAm really doesn't want drivers to have pets on the trucks because the damage the do by chewing, scratching, and the havoc that shed fur wrecks on filters and such. But they don't bar it completely, the just slap you with a $2500 deposit. I don't know that company drivers can have pets. And a lease op, the only way to get the deposit back is to finish your lease.
o.o Threw me off to see someone else with my forum avatar. I saw the pic and was like "wait I didn't post that!" Lol.
Had a rough day yesterday. But now I'm in Ina,IL for the night across from the Loves. I final in Cheyenne Friday evening.

In Davenport, Ia. for the night. Got my preplan but not worth posting till I get underneath it. They seem to change my preplan just before I deliver.
The settlements are a little confusing at first. The first part is paid miles, second part is all deductions and then the fuel is at the end.
I don't care about their pet deposit. If I want a mutt in the truck I will put one in. They can charge me when I turn in truck but fat chance I will pay. I don't give a hoot about that. The deposit is a $2,500 nonrefundable. Not sure about any breed or size restrictions. I do not have any pets in truck.
Wife and I are thinking about moving to Wi. she is from there and contacting some people she grew up with about my possible employment for a trucking company up there. We need a change of scenery. Landlord told us she wants to move into our place(cause I fixed it up real nice) and since we are on month to month we have to go. She said Dec. 1st so hopefully making move before then or my wife and a menagerie in the truck for a month or 2. The joy.
Be safe out therewulfman75, HometimeQueen, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -
T-Called my load to Olathe yard. Waiting for anything. If I get a load guess I will stay in this beauty, but it needs a bath. Meathouses are sooooooooooo dusty. After a 22 hour start to finish day yesterday, wouldn't mind taking it easy tonite. Deuces.

Alright, so you know how I am .....I read both manuals, company and lease.....TransAm's April 2014 version. There have been some changes since the King first went there. In the company driver manual there is absolutely nothing about having a pet until you get to the section on Terminations. It says that you could be terminated for having a pet on the truck. In the lease driver's manual I could find absolutely nothing about having a pet on the truck ....not even anything about a $2000 or $2500 pet deposit. So, honeybadger is right on the money .....it is not something that they encourage at all.
I will admit this girl is tired and has had a rough week, my brain isn't firing on all cylinders right now. There were several other changes in there that I will look at and compare when I have time to pull the older manuals out. Interesting....
honeybadger, I hope today was better for you.
George, I hope you get some well-earned rest ....and get to keep the nice truck for awhile!
jaso, I'm sorry about your landlord situation. Sometimes one door has to close in order for the right door to open .....I hope this change turns into the opportunity that you have been looking for! ......And admit it ....you would love to have your wife with you for awhile!
Although, I guess it would depend on how big of a menagerie we are talking about here.....and what kind.
dennisroc, jaso37 and gntorres61 Thank this. -
Great minds think alike. I think the Cranky one is saying his job would not be suitable for me as I take time off months at a time? I'll be in Cranky's running grounds later this week, maybe I'll try to track him down for lunch and ask him.Panhandle flash and dennisroc Thank this.

Making it no longer a deposit, but a fee. I looked at the company manual also, HTQ is right, the only place a "pet" is listed is in the "Reasons for Termination" section. Keeping a pet on the truck for a company driver is listed the same as theft or abandoning a truck.HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this.

unless your a neat person a pet in the truck is nasty
my boss quit fixing the heat blower on one guys truck because it was clogged with dog hair
another one had a dog chewed up the wiring under the dash
irresponsible people cause all of us to lose stuff
wait until there is a cell phone ban because of the guys not wearing headsetsPanhandle flash Thanks this. -
So you guys are saying that if I bring my goldfish with me I gotta pay $2500 , is that per fish ?
gntorres61, jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Well now the Cranky one moves to Wisconsin and now you are Jaso, Not sure if that will be a good thing or not. So where at in Wisconsin Jaso? Hopefully not the Green Bay area, Though Miss Patty might enjoy some company when Pete is out if you are moving to the Green Bay area.

I was almost right, just a little off on the time. George rested overnight and is now just chillin at the Olathe yard, however,he's booked for a bus ride back to MN tonight. He will stay in a hotel once he gets there and get his truck back in the morning. After that, only God knows where he will be going.
Honeybadger, I'm so sorry you didn't take first place in that contest. I also tried to help you win, though probably nowhere near as Hometime. Hope 2nd place was fairly good pay out for you.
Have an awesome and safe day, everyone!!!dennisroc, HometimeQueen and gntorres61 Thank this.
