Yeah they are, IF you can survive there long enough to get to top pay scale, which usually takes 4 years. They start you out at $18 and some change around here on package car so starting pay isn't that crazy. (I interviewed with them but never got a call back) It's a great paying job for a lot of people but they really beat it out of you if you're out there delivering packages. I probably would have hated it.

That's what its like working for an in-demand employer... everyone wants on board so they can raise the hiring standards and demand top performance from their employees. I bet if you ask anyone there they will tell you that you don't stand around drinking coffee for $37/hr... you work your ### off! Show me a fat UPS worker!

I found this hilarious as a trainee you walk in the Charlotte terminal see tons of truckers with blue tooth headset same with the so called non slip boots they sell seeing trucker walk around with flip flops though it was mandatory to wear boots at the oc.
All in all schneider was only bad in the way of no miles they would shut me down with 8 hours on my 11 and say they have no load for me till tomorrow so I would run 200 miles a day. -
From the New York Times
"....Even though he often clocked 70 hours a week at the Schneider warehouse here, he was never paid time-and-a-half overtime, he said. And now, having joined a lawsuit involving hundreds of warehouse workers, Mr. Rangel stands to receive more than $20,000 in back pay as part of a recent $21 million legal settlement with Schneider, a national trucking company.
Sometimes Id work 60, even 90 days in a row, said Mr. Rangel, a soft-spoken immigrant from Mexico. They never paid overtime.

The lawsuit is part of a flood of recent cases brought in California and across the nation that accuse employers of violating minimum wage and overtime laws, erasing work hours and wrongfully taking employees tips. Worker advocates call these practices wage theft, insisting it has become far too prevalent....." -
Indeed, when I was driving for Schneider, it seemed like the majority of drivers at the Carlisle OC wore flip flops & blue tooth headsets... but I still wear the boots they sold me.
