Ok so I took the plunge and decided to get my own truck. It's a 2015 Lone star with an ISX Cummins. 485 HP 3.25 gear ratio and 35,000 miles. What I would like to know is how can I improve fuel mileage. She was at 6.6 but the past couple days has dropped to 5.9-6.0. I usually travel I40 to Cali and back east and haul around 38,000lbs. Any advice?

Like all trucks keep your right foot light. Also usually takes about 100k to get them broken in.

1. buy a ScanGauge KR $228 https://letstruck.com/store/scangaugekr with no modifications i was able to bring up my mpg from 6.2 avg to 6.8 just by driving according to the Mpg and Average Per Tank Readout
2. Run Synthetic 5w40 oil slight mpg improvement i use Rotella T6 $21 a gallon at walmart
3. Slow down i run between 55 and 58 mph and be light on the gas when climbing hills
4. Never Idle, i use a Champion 3100 watt Generator its as quiet as a TriPac, and i have a 12000 btu LG portable A/C unit on the top bunk and electric blanket and a Electric Heater
5. http://flowbelow.com/AeroKit.html $1,800
6. Air Tabs http://www.airtab.com/ $200

My friend drives a 2015 prostar with isx450 cummins, 2.64 rear axles, super singles, and 10 sp ultrashift. According to his peoplenet, he gets 9 mpg at 70 mph and loaded at 19k lbs. No need of driving slowing and he can get to destination in time.

If you've had a significant drop in mpg like that then I would be looking at mechanicals. If you can swing it, get it in a shop and have the computer looked at. Then start looking for any type of boost leaks, charge air cooler, emissions issues. Being close to a full mpg drop I would definitely be suspect of something. Make sure everything is solid before trying to add or take away equipment for mpgtrukngrl Thanks this.

Just be glad you have an isx in that truck and not a maxxforce. Though being light on the throttle may help a lot.

Thank you all for the advice. I think I'm gonna have it hooked up to a computer to make sure there aren't any issues. I noticed my boost has decreased also. Again thanks for all the advice

oh i also recommend using Fuel Gauges its free and makes it easy to track you MPG and also makes it easier to discover when something is Mechanically wrong with the truck a unexplained drop for no reason could be Regen related or a leak in the charge air cooler or Something as simple as a head wind

When she dropped we was heading to Kentucky and she hasn't been right since. Finally got her back to 6.2 yesterday. I really detest all this egr bull
makes things more complicated than they have to be... And more expensive

Truckin Juggalo what is the model number for the champion generator that you use in the truck.
