I don't know which path you are going to choose and what websites you are reading but it is unlikely your w2 will be more than 30000 in your first year. Now go ahead and prove me wrong .
Maybe high 60000 in your 3d year if you stick around.
As for owner operators divide their gross by 3 to see the net pay, 70000 that is according to the website and they like to exaggerate obviously

3 businesses working together. All "in state". Team operation. What?

Is all 3 businesses going to operate 24 hours?
Is all operation gonna be "in state"?
    Why 'teams'?

I would consider starting out with one shift, and 3 trucks (one dedicate to each facility)---then if/when companies grow...adjust transportation as needed. A team 'in-state' just sounds ridiculous to me, and they might get bored crapless. Two people in one truck does not make the truck go faster.

I think I might have mislead you. My business plans aren't involved directly with trucking. They are more involved with clean-green energy production and renewable energy sources. The need for hauling in relation to the businesses, is related to biomassing material being moved from its harvesting location to our processing facility. Triaxle loads of chipped up trees and other organic material. That where I started thinking of getting my own CDL and covering that aspect of the business operation myself. If I were to start a hauling company, that would be completely separate from the above mentioned business ventures.

Ok, so Schneider Tanker division (SNBC) still takes students straight out of CDL school. They have a program that will reimburse you for your CDL school cost. The have an IC (Independent Contractor) otherwise known as O/O (Owner/Operator)program. They also offer a teaming program. I don't know about the pay structure for IC or Team drivers, but if it comes from the same resource that is quoting $85K for company solo drivers, it is dead wrong. DrivingForceBehindYou was closer to the truth on pay, although it was, in my opinion, worst case scenario. Just as a case in point, in the first 6 months of driving solo company driver for SNBC, you would most likely be on a pace to earn somewhere in the mid 30K's. After you complain about pay and freight and maybe find an understanding with your DBL (Driver Business Leader), you may finish your first year earning between 40K and 50K, experiences vary between new drivers. SNBC has a hiring campaign going on that sometimes includes a bonus, if you work there for at least 1 year, and it advertises, "up to" 75K earnings per year, or something like that. The key words there are "up to" meaning they haven't failed to meet their promise if you make less than that, which you most certainly will make less than that. Still, it's not a bad place to start.
