If you haven't been to Maxon before, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT..... stay at the truck stop across the road. You will have indian, or should I say Native American, crack ######, beating on your door all night. Stay on campbells property instead!!!!
Hmmmm, wonder if they will edit "ladies of the evening"???

Forgive my ranting, but I am ticked. George was aporoved for home time this past Monday, but he was stuck in Iowa awaiting repairs on his truck. I understand how, after that he needed a load as he made his way home, (It's nice he had some miles for the week. )
however, he waited about 24 hours before he was again on the road. So, the "swap," more like rescue today for a second bilo load was ludicrous! I know moving the freight is the name of the game, but do they care about the drivers and their families? Did his DM even realize how late his home time is now? He would be home now! Sheesh! I believe it even took them longer to unload the "swap" load than the first one. He was there nearly all day. He finally left in the neighborhood of 4 pm! The load was late, so George was most likely penalized for that. He said it was the guy's first run, lease driver, and GPS sent him in the wrong direction. Did he have a phone? Couldn't he have called his DM or bilo even for directions?
Ok. Rant over. Bragging on George now, to some extent, he chose to help out and be a team player. Nice of him for sure. It will be interesting to see how they pay him for that. Somehow I doubt they will justify the amount of time he spent waiting there!
Sweet dreams and take care, All!Last edited: Oct 24, 2014

LOL George says he's getting experience. Yep! He certainly is!! HTQ, you've often complimented him, regarding his good attitude. He has gotten frustrated here lately to some extent, but he is determined to get a little more time and experience under his belt. After the past month +, I'd say he deserves an award! He's like that doggone Energizer Bunny....he keeps on ticking (plodding on)!!! Remarks have been made occasionally that at least he isn't a lease driver. True, oh yes, true, but pay checks lately haven't been so great and won't be for at least a couple more. Hopefully things will improve when he goes out after home time. Sure hope and pray so!
Jaso, hope things are looking up for you. HTQ, speaking of deer, one of my brothers sent me a picture of a 6 point deer that he shot today! I know he's excited! I'm assuming you and your family have eaten deer for your daughter to make the "yummy" statement?passport220 Thanks this. -
Thanks jdmredneck. That's why they all tease me about the map pins
, I check on many things so that my husband can be aware of what might be ahead of him and if I know where everyone else is I can give them a heads up also. As everyone here will tell you, using your time wisely and learning to plan is the most important thing that you can do to maximize your pay, stay safe and be successful. We all try to share information and any websites that we find that may be of use. I know you will be doing your part in helping everyone and sharing information when you get out of school too!
I think you are wise to be pulling everything together now.....it will make it so much less stressful when you get started driving. As you already know, we're here to help you all that we can!
jungHo, passport220, jdmredneck33 and 1 other person Thank this. -
From one of my old posts:
Great minds think alike. However, I have been to C&S twice since I wrote my post, they actually where fine, in and out in a reasonable amount of time.
