Drive it like ya stole it. DC up shifts 200 rpm and downshifts 400 rpm. It works in any truck.
RJ33RD Thanks this. -
That will work too! Lol

Hi buzzman, the biggest problem I've seen with shifting, is over-revving the engine between gears. Remember, there is only a few hundred rpm's between gears, unlike a car, that may have a couple of thousand rpm's between gears. If you get into trouble, you can push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and hold it there, engaging the clutch brake, which essentially stops everything, allowing you to get it in a gear. While you may be way off, gear wise, it helps you get back in the game. Good luck.

Worrying is the worst you can do.
It all comes back just like fallin' off a log!

really?
I asked them before I did a road test "do you want me to float or double-clutch?" (i'm good at both) and the OSR's told me they didn't care -
...how is one bad at double-clutching?
clutch, neutral, clutch, gear,
even I know how to double-clutch -
Very well said.

How much trucking exp do you have?Doubt Schneider will fail you for bad shifting unless you shift on tracks or coast to a stop sign. But if your shifting is bad they may require you go out with a trainer for a week or two.

It's like anything else, if you don't do it very often, you don't have the muscle memory to do it smoothly. You noobs forget that some of us have never had to double-clutch on a regular basis, we learned to float right off the bat and only clutched when we screwed up. Well, and the occasional need to do it off-road on soft ground.
