Even if their ad ask for experience, it costs you nothing but a little time to apply anyway. A lot of compnies are really hurting for drivers now, and more willing to train the right person. Apply in person, if you can. Or apply online, and follow that up will a phone call the next day or so. As far as tankers, I run local and regional by choice. I could run the system, go everywhere and make more money. Most of the time, a lot more money. You run more loaded miles like that. You do get coast to coast runs, but most of them are shorter.

For anyone who is interested. Trimac does hire a few students. You have to catch them at the right time, have gone to an approved school and you have to do face to face interviews but if you do get hired then welcome to your new career because they might be a few better than Trimac but not many.

Thanks ethos. I'll look into Schneider tank division and trimac. Glad to know there are good folks like you and chinatown on this forum willing to give advice to new drivers like me. Gracias

I always thought that you get trained to drive a truck before you get a CDL, not after. So those company trainers are mentors for a lack of a better term.

Mcelroy has a good training program. 2 weeks in class and on the yard..20days with trainer and 1 more week on the yard with your assigned truck
