I havent had much time to diagnose lately because of the haul were on for the next while. Today I noticed when I idle it up to about 950 sitting still it has a kind of rythmic vibration/ drone. Like someone gently hitting floorboard with a rubber mallet 4 times, pause, 4 times, pause, etc. I know every vibration is differant, just wanna see if anyone has experienced any of these symptoms, throwing parts at it gets expensive.

Have you had a cutout test done? This help you to pin point it to maybe one cylinder if it is engine related. I have worked on quite a few acerts and most engine vibrations I have seen are from a weak injector or overhead set wrong. Normally when IVA's start having problems the truck will run good until it gets to operating temp (starts running off of sensors) then you'll do good to pull over 30psi boost after you are warmed up. I would have a cutout test done. If you know the tech or have someone with ET see if they'll do a manual test...do the automated test also, but if they'll do it manually you'll be able to run it at your rpms you pick instead of what ET picks. The miss and or vibration may not be at the same rpm that ET picks to run the test...around 1000 rpms. It takes a bit of watching but you can kind of average the numbers by watching them by manually cutting out cylinders. I like them to be within .02-.05 of each other. We have one that all 6 are within .02 of each other and is smooth as silk. Have some others that are within .07-.10 of each other and are very rough. ET will say they are okay...but you can feel they are not. Just a thought. Could also be in the injector harness. Worth checking out.
Chevyho Thanks this. -
Yepp did have a cutout test done, cant remember the exact numbers but #4 was def a fair amount higher.. Had the top end reset and it came a lot closer to the other numbers but still higher. Manual cut out is next on the list once I get some down time and some other things checked out.

At 700,000 miles I would change the wiring harness under the valve covers, the damage caused by the extra heat from the Acert technology is very hard on the wires and connections.

you say the vibration started after replacing engine mounts and clutch....hopefully the clutch was done at a reputable shop...if not I have seen the flywheel not being bolted up properly and missing the dowel pin in the crankshaft.... also it could be a bad clutch... unbolt the clutch from the flywheel and operate at the rpm you say you can feel the vibration. if the vibration is gone....well you need a clutch!

When the vibration is there it def feels down on power which is why I lean towards an injector. I just havent had time to mess with it lately. Some days it doesnt do it at all other days it does it all day, i will spend more time on injector cut out and manually cutting injectors once things slow down. With only a couple weeks left in the gravel season cant afford the down time right now.

I would check the clutch too, if it is slipping it will shake.

Update on this; vibration still there, work has slowed a bit so been working on it again. Ran a 4 cylinder cut out test today. Fuel numbers on all injectors were pretty close around 3.42, except #4 was 3.76. The test passed, but is that number out enough to be concerning? Also ran a Intake Valve Actuator test, #5 actuator failed the test. Fuel numbers were, 3.07, 3.05, 3.04, 3.26, 2.39, 3.06. Could it be a bad solonoid?

Yes it should derate with a code. Did you get a code?
