In Jackson Mississippi at the Flying J waiting for my 10 to be up. There is something to be said for night driving. Glad to go back and through "the great american parking lot" aka Atlanta in the middle of the night. Left Averitt yard at 330am drove a couple of hours, stopped at Loves in Moody AL for a 90 minute nap. Continued on at 7am central until arriving here about noon. 529 miles until Touchdown. Delivery due at 11 am but will try to get there before 8am (drop and hook anyway) and beeline to Rockwall for my PMs and DOT truck inspections. Been a good week. Over 2000 miles between Mon and Thurs. Keep it coming. Deuces.

Something else about parking on ice and snow. If you've been running for any length of time, remember that your tires are hot. If you just stop, they will melt that ice and snow, and then it will refreeze around your tires. You'll either freeze into place, or it will be so slick, that you can't get out. When you stop, roll yourself a few feet, back and forth, to cool the tires down. Park, do your logs, then ro;; back and forth again..... just to make sure!!!

Kitty litter and ice melt, work best at shippers and rcvr's. They sometimes don't clean their lots so well. Also, buy yourself one of those army surplus shovels. The ones that break into 3rd's. With the shovel part bent, you can move quite a bit of snow from around your tires. A hammer, small sledge, works great for breaking up ice.

Also, if your driving on snow packed roads, rumble strips are your friend. They are on almost every highway, and they will let yo know if you've crossed the line. If it's snow packed, hope you've slowed down.

Hey Passport , just bought my tickets to go home to the Philippines for the Holidays. Dec. 20---Jan. 5

That is always a great time around the holidays as I'm sure you know and gives me a break from the cold winters here in Korea.

I predict a lot of San Miguel will be consumed. :biggrin_25520:

Are you planning a trip to Asia ? Wanted to get my tickets early , gets pretty crazy trying to get tickets If you wait too long. Lot of Koreans head to the Philippines for the great weather.

I made it to one of my usual haunts for the night, the TA in Greenwood, LA. Was having crazy chest pain earlier, probably just related to this crap. Will spend tomorrow night at home. Haven't decided yet if I want to take I 49 down to 10 and go that way or take US49 down through MS. Leaning toward the interstate route cause I will be running during the day and this load is really hard to get moving. All those traffic lights on US49 will kill my time. I would like to get home in time to drag myself along and take the kids trick or treating. Since I have the plague, I will just load up on meds, wear a mask and say I'm an ebola patient.

Hello and Happy Holloween to everyone, Hope this plague of yours doesn't keep you from enjoying trick or treating with your kids HB.

And I feel sorry for your daughter jungho, I am lucky as I had it 7 times in one year once, last time the doc said he would take them out if it happened again, funny thing is have not had it since then.

In Big Springs, Ne. for the night. Not one of my favorite spots, this is the one who screwed up my APU but trying to even out my hours this is the most logical spot for me. Have to be in Cheyenne tomorrow by 0800. Then off to Lexington for a 2 stop delivery the first stop Birchwood foods in Atlanta. Only 2377 for the week not bad considering I had 2 days at home.

    Be safe out there

Good evening everyone! I am rushing around doing the house frau thing ....laundry, etc. I had to bring in all of the plants, southwest Missouri will have temps down in the 20's tonight.

honeybadger, I hope you are feeling much better today and that you make it home in time to enjoy going trick or treating with your boys.

jaso, are you doing ok? Any decisions on the move? I know it has to be hard trying to get everything done that needs doing. Prayers and good thoughts sent your way. It does all work out in it's own time .....our Cranky One can attest to that ....so don't let it get you down. We're here to talk to if you need us.

passport, you sure are being quiet .....how are you? Gritting your teeth and hanging on?

Ok, back to the grind ....I'll be back later on....

jungHo, jaso37 and passport220 Thank this.
