i did not notice your post,

here number of V8 and E6 is still very low , and it is hard to tell much for now, as usual we manage to cheat and bring lot of euro5 , until recent you could see brand new e5 trucks , but seems like not too many of euro6 engines bring happiness to their owner , if not with fuel problems become with complicated technics
i was talking with friend he says on same mountain route 580 uses 3l more than 410 and 0.5l more than 490 ,1l more than 440e6 and r500, he care about fuel , i dont remember figures but i think man440e5 use about same on this route , volvo 460e6 use 0.5-1L more , this is route where most of drivers+trucks got 40L

Scania engines share a lot with cummins. Really good cabover. Silent and worm cab.

Main benefit of EU cab is safety. Cab is made of steel. But US aluminium cabins are much lighter. Century class is 500-700 kg lightrer thn Volvo FH ore MB Actros of the same configuration

Pablo -ua why there is so many American trucks in former CCCP? is it because of price, big sleepers? I hear American trucks are noisier, rough and drink more fuel. zaranie dyakuyu.

I cant answer for the CCCP but in Africa the reason is price and simplicity.

The former USSR countries have lenghtlaws which allow the use off old USA trucks.(20.5 metres i believe)
That fact and the low prices off the old USA trucks at that time coupled with a high demand for trucks when Russian oil/gas started booming, made it a good option.
Now it isn't as much off a option as Russia has imposed a 5y max age limit on secondhand trucks.

    king Q Thanks this.

Yes, the lenth and the price. EU trucks are really better, technologically advanced, but more expencive.

Well times change. Any NA trucks built after 08 will be useless in the overseas used truck market .

Eu trucks may be your best bet........

Really globalization does its deal. Every new law in USA and EU makes laws closer, EU and US trucks share powertraine, driveline, electronics.

So soon we will see the same trucks worldwide
