Well that sucks! What kind of signs did it give? With hindsight was there any way you could have caught it sooner?

Any other damage?? To bad it couldn't had been the rear rearend. Much cheaper and easier to deal with since you don't have to deal with the power divider.

    Nope, no crash.

No signs at all, it just started to howl really loud, then there was a slight clunk and I had no power to the ground, pulled over thinking it was the power divider, locked it in and started rolling again as everything looked fine. Only made it 5 miles and it started howling again, pulled over and called the hook. I figured that it was just the power divider as it has not been engaging everytime, was going to have it looked at when I got home. I might have been able to catch this before it got to this point if my truck had temp gauges for the rears. It will get some now.

Engine, transmission and rear driver have all been rebuilt on mine. But not the front, I really should do my front driver. Hooks are never good.

I was surprised when I had to do the rear before the front.

My rear is getting done when I get home, should also think about having the transmission done as well I suppose. For what I'll have in this front one now I'm nervous as hell about the other one doing the same thing.

My transmission never went bad, a couple years ago took a 10 speed out and put a factory 18 reman in. But I did loose a bearing in the rear driver.

I was going take a couple months off and put a wood floor down in the house, I just told my wife I might put her wood floor into the rear end.
