Right now the bar seems to be very low. Be able to pass some written tests and a fairly simple DOT road test.
What is the goal for a road trainer, what benchmarks or performance level should they expect their student to reach? How can a road trainer know if they are doing a good job? I like the military model for truck driver training. The military trains literally millions of men and women each year in many varied tasks, many roughly equivalent to truck driving. I know Jaso has had some good military training, I think that is why when he writes about training, it sounds correct to us.
The military model is not about some crazy drill sergeant yelling in your face it is more about some basics like: State objectives clearly, straightforward and direct communication, set standards for evaluation and be clear about standards for success, ALWAYS giving feedback and after training evaluations. I don't remember all of it, but you get the idea. Set standards ---> train ----> evaluate if you met the standards ----> continue or change training until u meet the standards.
For TransAm, I think they need to spend some time training the trainers. At least give them a clear idea of what they expect a student to learn when they are out on the road, let them know what the standards are. Right now, it is just hit or miss. Could get a great trainer like Jaso or any random lump-lump. Either way at the end of the trip, you will get a shinny set of keys and out on the road with 40 tons you go!

Ya gotta get that kind of WiFi antenna like you saw I was using at Sapp. bros, that I have posted here about. Then park at the far end of the plaza building, toward the exit side, near as you can where doubles and triples park.
btw: when you wrote "outside ant" I spent several minutes trying to figure out what insects might have to do with anything. I thought not having an outside ant was some kind of country expression for some place where the people are spoiled to the indoors or something.jaso37, Panhandle flash and jungHo Thank this. -
*sighs* This place has 8 docks and only one is being used for unloading AND, they're slow. Have been here almost 2 hrs now and still waiting on a door. Wouldn't be so bad if I could just lay back down but oh no!!!!! Have to watch for the this truck to leave son that I can then back in.

A massive storm packing arctic air moved eastward on Sunday, promising a deep chill for two-thirds of the U.S. and heavy snow from Montana to Michigan, according to meteorologists.
The season's first significant snow will fall Sunday in Montana and the Dakotas, according to Weather.com. As the storm moves east through Monday, it will pick up strength and drop greater amounts of snow, delivering up to 18 inches around the Great Lakes, Weather.com predicted. Commuters are warned to be careful of slick and slushy roads Monday morning in parts of Minnesota, the Dakotas, northern Wyoming and Montana.
The arctic outbreak is also expected to set record low temperatures in some parts of the U.S.
The cold front will hit Montana and the Dakotas late Sunday, according to Weather.com, which said temperatures will plummet from a high of around 60 degrees to the 20s in some places. Temperatures are expected to drop 20 to 30 degrees below average in the Plains on Sunday, and the cold snap wont break until Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. And the cold front will extend all the way to the Texas Panhandle, which can expect temperatures in the 40s, according to Weather.com.
High temperatures were forecast to be below freezing on Tuesday across much of Wyoming to Minnesota and parts of Iowa, Bruce Sullivan of the National Weather Service's prediction center, told The Associated Press. "Once it gets its momentum going, it's going to keep going south," Sullivan added.dennisroc Thanks this. -

If you need more entertainment, Queenie, I am working on some 1960's Chris Montez karaoke while lying here in the sleeper at the Loves Salisbury NC. Love his music!! Discovered it while riding along with Johnboy last winter when I was with Abilene. Ballads with a beat I call it. "Call Me" and "The More I see You" were two of his biggest hits. Bet I drove Johnboy crazy with my singing to the radio. I don't have a natural singing voice but do have somewhat a musical background as I played clarinet and piano until about 30 years ago. I do like to sing. Anyway, a great way to kill the afternoon. Deuces.
