Just wondering? I like the idea the other person had about taking pictures but I know you have to be careful with that. Some troopers get cranky if they see you taking their pictures. We just have bland looking cars here in NM.

I keep reading all these posts about how Werner is soooooooooooo bad. Are these posts coming from Werner employees? I've been with them for 6 months now and I enjoy it. No they arent the best company. They have alot of problems that they need to fix. example...THE PAY!! And there have been days where I had the hand in my phone ready to call dispatch and tell them where to go. But for the most part for me...things have been going good. Ive been driving 2800-3500 a week(solo), getting home pretty much when I wanted to, never really sitting (one time i sat at the denver terminal for 3 1/2 days, i told them i wanted some kinda of payment for me sititng and i recieved more then i was wanting), my truck isnt the prettiest thing but it gets me where i need to go. This company is not for everyone. If you are wanting/needing to make quick money look somewhere else. But if you are just starting out, want a trill of driving a big rig, and enjoy parts of the country you never been then dont be scared to give it a try. And a couple of tips....stay away from terminals, dont bug your dispatcher, only talk to them when needed, dont b i t) ch but stand your ground.

Oh well, today is the day to look for another. -
Has he talked with his terminal manager about the problem? 600 miles a week seems awful low. It almost seems like his dispatcher has come to not like him for some reason or another. I have talked to several Werner drivers lately with the same or more years in with the company and they are running in the mid to upper 2,000's miles wise per week so I don't think it is because they are just giving miles to the newbies.
I am sure you know this but, if he hasn't talked to the TM and does, he would be best served by not coming across harsh. Seems like the office folks stick together. Sometimes it seems like an us-against-them mentality rather than understanding that it takes everyone; office personnel, shop personnel, and drivers; to make a trucking company successful. -
600 miles a week??!?!!?!? why is he still working for them? with 6 years experience he should have no problem at all finding a company with great pay. as he tried regional? one thing i keep hearing from other drivers is 48 state dont get miles. what about a deticated account? i hear thats the only way to get money and great hometime. now about his truck, still have about 50,000 before getting a different truck. hes not the only one with high miles, i have 370,000 on mine. he must have a KW if youre saying its too small. i would love to meet the people who designed that truck so i can smack them upside the head. anyways sorry to hear werner treats ur fiance like that. i dont understand how they can get away with treating people like that. hope you dont think im trying to stand up for the company....im not. they are a foot in the door for me, once i have my time in, im gone. well wish you the best of luck.
-
I worked for them 2 years ago. And i know their load pool.
Karen, your fiance probably has another gal in another city that he is spending the money withand telling you he had only 600 miles.
Its just can not be true. Even JB Hunt gives u more miles than that -
600 miles in a week, let alone several, would be reason to leave... At Werner Pay, they'll spend nearly as much writing the check as it was written for!!
-
That was a bad answer. My fiance is not the type to have someone on the side. You just have to know him! -
Back in the 70's KW was a darn good truck but so many beat them now.
Thank you for the luck! He and I both need it.
