After being retired from trucking for approximately 15 years, I've been checking up on the industry lately, mainly just to satisfy my curiosity. I've found some interesting and informative threads on this site over the past few weeks. Y'all are a knowledgeable and articulate bunch. A lot has changed!
I've also noticed the truckstop.com website seems to be mentioned often. Are the live feed rates posted there in line with the actual rates you guys are receiving? The range seems to vary rather wildly at times. For example: Dry Van over the past couple of weeks has ranged from $1.80 to $2.30 per mile. That's a big swing in such a short time. Is this volatility common?

No one here would know. Everyone on this board runs for $3.00 a mile or more, if they can't get that, they park the truck!
ShortBusKid and KCLLC Thank this. -
Thought you were gonna say no one knows because they are all company drivers getting .21 a mile!!lol

A state is hot one week and cold the next Hot states for Dry this week seem to be IN, WI, MI, IL and OH. Southern states have been bad for about 6 weeks now.mp4694330 Thanks this.

$1.80 to $2.30 swing is pretty tame. Gets much wilder than that. Those would be the so-so rates you sit at home and wait for $3 lol.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Step here in the east has been real good for the last 3 months, 2.50 being the worst rate so far.
double yellow, lostcauz and mp4694330 Thank this.
