I also will be praying for you, Jay da trucker. Spending time with family, particularly your grandmom with her being sick, is very important. Hope you get hired soon and are able to start making some money. Being strapped for cash isn't a good feeling.
HB, I often think of you and how hard it must be for you being away from your children. Will be praying for you and for your family. I admire your work ethic. You are quite driven. It's called "paying the bills, " huh?! Hope your plan comes together with Larsen quickly and things go better for you.passport220, HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
Queenie,no I was never offered any holiday. I inquired to my primary DM about getting Thanksgiving off, and by the time I did, it was already closed off. She said that I would have had to put in two months in advance and work straight through without any other hometime in between. (Jungho would have hung herself). The longest I ever want to stay out would be three weeks, not eight or nine weeks. Nuts on that! I was gone the three days of orientation and hit the road after orientation which was Memorial Day Weekend and finally got home two weeks after that. 13 days my first trip out. I thought my first trip I would be routed to NC after my three drops in FLA, but instead got an Auburndale Coca Cola (actually OJ and Lemonade) to the Walmart DC in Ochelata OK, then to Dodge City KS for a National Beef load to Greensboro, Black Mountain (Ingles) and BiLo in Greenville SC. Yeah, made the mistake of not putting in for hometime after getting out of orientation. I thought TransAm was supposed to send me home after orientation with a load, of course. But what the heck, I was having fun!!passport220, jungHo and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Just in case any of you are heading this way -
Accumulating snowfall expected in Missouri Saturday. About three inches in southwest MO but over 6 inches in some areas and lows in the teens at night. Pete, I need to go back and find that post about fuel gelling so that we can re-post it. It is that time of year .....ugh!passport220 Thanks this. -
What? The fuel tanks aren't heated?? Seems like ions ago Johnboy would get the additive to keep fuel from jelling. Are you jellin, Magellan??
dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
I admire you Kris.

Got real lucky and Masonite unloaded me today instead of scheduled delivery for tomorrow. Looks like I am keeping my pre-plan Grand Island to Pompano Beach, Fl. but that doesn't pick up till Friday. Thats ok I need my log book to catch up a little bit. Can't get out of this cold weather fast enough. Will be taking airborne for the temp changes. I get sick once a year and do not want to be sick while the loads are running good. Hopefully will be able to get by yard to get new IFTA sticker.
I am with HB if they offer bonus again I will be out for X-Mas and New Years. Wondering when they will dangle that carrot.
Got a call from my accountant and he reviewed my statements for August(haven't sent him newer ones since then). I did 12,600. I thought I was doing way better miles this time around. I will talk to him next week for an update till Nov. but looking good so far
You guys can go back to chatting. I am going to sleep soon.
Be safe out thereHometimeQueen and passport220 Thank this. -
Hello everyone, hope all is well. I have a buddy that just started orientation today in Texas. School is going well for me. My last day is November 30. I don't have a test date yet but I am sure it will be in early December. I'm definitely going to wait until the new year to start orientation so I can be home for xmas and new year. I just have to be there no later then 90 days after graduation or a refresher course will be needed. is there anyone on this thread from S.C.? if so what part and are there a lot of loads coming to SC? Just incase you'll cared, I know my pre-trip from front to back, and shifting and driving is great, My biggest concern is the alley dock. I'll get it I 5x in a row and then miss 5xin a row. Any pointers on the alley docking to make it more consisted?
Thankspassport220 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
I know when you are in school you judge backing differently than what we judge by out here, I myself consider a back successful if you are in the spot you want and didn't hit anything. The more you do it the better you get. GOAL keep doing that and you will be ok. I have a friend who lives in SC and he gets home just fine. Good luckpassport220, HometimeQueen and truckertravis84 Thank this.

I'm glad you are doing well, truckertravis. It sounds as if you have a plan. I don't think any of us on here are from South Carolina. The only thing that I can tell you is that if you are within their hiring area then they know that they can get you home.
Enjoy the holidays with your family!truckertravis84 Thanks this.
