For fedex custom critical do you need to own your own truck.

Yes, or you will need to find a fleet owner to work for. Custom Critical doesn't have any "company" drivers.

I doubt you'd find a rental ready to lease-on, maybe a full blown out lease on a truck from a dealer. You also have to maintain the insurance for the rig, fuel, any costs not covered by lease/rental, and your own fees for food, showers, etc.
Sounds like you're new to the game - you might want to find a fleet owner to work for to start. What sort of rig are you looking to run?

Your profile says wannabe. Do you have any experience? I think you need to have 6mos in a straight truck to lease on, and a year for a semi. So contracting to a fleet owner might be your best bet to get your feet wet.
