I am so mad right now, I don't know what to do. A driver for my company saw this happen Tuesday night, at the Love's in Tulare, Calif. There were three confirmed witness's that stated the driver entered the truck stop going between 25 and 30 mph. It was dark. The driver hit and ran over a driver that was walking across the lot, near the fuel island. One of the steer tires ran over his head. The driver of the truck was arrested, taken to the hospital for a UA, then to jail. This foolish act has taken the life a man. Ruined his family's lives. He ruined his own life and I hope he never drives a big truck ever again. I hope he does as much time behind bars as possible. I hope he is sued by the victims family. How could this have been avoided? BY SLOWING THE **** DOWN! I am sick and tired of idiots driving too fast in places like a truck stop! I have a GoPro on 24/7 and if I see some idiot speeding in the truck stop, the video is sent in to the company. SLOW DOWN!

"One of the steer tires ran over his head"

then hit and run too!!!!

this guys punishment should be a truck running over his balls and then be thrown into a hole in a ground to live for the rest of his life -
That's why I always walk the pay line.
Never in between trailers or gaps.
A few steps to make me safer from others.
Quite unfortunate.
Idiots speeding.
Idiots out walking around in a truck stop with animals kids and crap.
Might as well go play in the road. Its basically the same thing.SheepDog Thanks this. -
It is sad to hear and I agree to many people want to race through the parking lots. I think it is an ego thing. When I am parked at the truck stop I like to just sit and watch the people going through the lots. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Some people would also send a copy of the video to the state police department, state highway patrol, or to the Department of Transportation. I personally have mixed feelings about that.

Easy to prevent. Your right, slow down. Feel sorry for the driver and his family.

Ultimately it is the drivers fault, however had the victim been paying attention to his surroundings this most likely might not have happened. It's sad that it happened, and I agree with the op that drivers need to slow down.

How very sad.

I hate reading these because it's a reality. There are "drivers" who absolutey don't care and do whatever they want irregardless of who it's affecting or what the consequences may be. The dead driver did nothing wrong while billy bigrigger just had to tear through the parking lot. RIP driver.

I no longer walk in the open. Down the line of trucks, straightest line to the fuel island, ready to run at a moments notice. I swear some guys aim for you, and turn around for a 2nd try.
SheepDog Thanks this.
