pcnavigator is a full map downloaded to pc. and free.

get yourself a cheap bluetooth dongle for laptop or pc. download free bluetooth app for phone. bingo. your new gps program for trip planning. or daily use. using your phone as a gps transmitter.

    OR

aponia is a free truck map downloaded to your phone. you do have to change the settings for english and miles instead of the metric system. and make sure you set up the proper parameters. or you'll end up going where you dno't belong if your one of those that refuse to look for the signs.

Exactly. I don't know why you'd want it for motorcycling either, but that's what they give you to work with if you want to create a custom route.

S Texan, this is off the subject, but just have a question for you. Did you actually drive down that 17% grade in your profile pic? The most I've done is like 8 or 9%. If so, how crazy was it?? And where was it? Thanx

That was on a little road in Arkansas north of Fort Smith near Cedarville. I'm not sure if it would actually survey out to 17% but that's what the sign says and I though it was interesting so I stopped my car and got a pic. And the steepest part is probably less then a 1/4 mile

RM does not make maps. They do make a Road Atlas. The database for these are completely different than what is used on the TND. This comes from HERE (NavTeq). The two DB's are not compatible.

If you are on an older TND you may not have the latest Map set. A 720 is a couple of map sets behind.

Sometimes the user never updates. I have seen many times at MATS and GATS where the user is about 2 years behind in updates.

I am digging my new DEZL. After 2 days I'm still learning it but the uncluttered screen (compared to the rand mcnally), split screen when approaching an exit and customizable dashboard all get thumbs up.
