They are going to E-logs, they are testing them now, and the drivers can use them if they want. Like Hurricane, my old company was outlaw, but they had to go to E-logs or shut down, these folks are the same way.
Beware of Hurricane Express Inc/Naedok. Big time SCAM.

TruckRunner, archangelic peon, JMichael and 2 others Thank this. -
Usually when you ran outlaw, you got paid more. Not at Hurricane. Its actually the other way around. Back when I ran "Outlaw" (or as I call it, the days before I didn't realize I needed a computer to tell me how to do my job) I made more by running hard.

As people always say "it's your career in your hands". You don't have to do anything illegal. Document everything and do things right, then you can get fired and get unemployment.

They are a Flease Purchase company and as such your not paying into unemployment so there is no unemployment when you get terminated. They pay on a 1099 and as such there are no legal protections afforded a regular employee. It's very simple, your paid as contract labor (or like so many other Flease Purchase scams, your called an independent contractor) and since the contracts are written 110% in favor of the carrier they can tell you that you no longer have a position and all you have to show for it is a worthless piece of paper and usually a whole lot of debt.
Sammons (STC) is the only company I know of that has a decent Flease Purchase scam but they tell you up front that your not going to make squat other than basic necessity money for the 2 years your purchasing the truck. (Or at least they used to be that way, haven't kept up on them the last couple years) -
Thank you for clearing that up!

Run past their facilities about three to four times a week....noticed yesterday that they had a dozen(12) shiny new "Pete's" parked in the back lot....hmmm...having a hard time keeping them on the road seems like.

Adding more trucks to the fleet maybe ?
Christieintheridge Thanks this.
