It is that time of year again. This will be another year where I will be OTR on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. I would like to know what you drivers will be doing, whether be home or working and how and where you do your Christmas shopping. Also, I am taking any suggestions of what to buy for my very active 3 year old son. Thanks to all who reply!

I shop at Walmart and Toys-R-Us and buy action figures my son likes. He and his little buddies love those plastic action figures like in the cartoons.

I shop for gift-giving holidays all year long... mostly because I detest "shopping" among the herds.
A 3 year old is probably ready for their own tablet. And books. There aren't many better things to do for young kids than instilling a love of reading.Puppage, b l a c k b e a r d, zmpart and 1 other person Thank this. -
I forgot about books; always buy books. Found some classics and each page in English is accompanied by another page translated to Mandarin. Depending on his mood, he reads in English or Mandarin. Doesn't have his own computer; it's easier to control how much time spent on one if he uses his Mother's computer. So far it's worked.b l a c k b e a r d Thanks this.

Gone Thanksgiving.
Home for Christmas.
Oh and as far as Christmas shopping.. Not much the wife is good for, but that's one of the few things on the list.
b l a c k b e a r d and Chinatown Thank this. -
You hit the nail on the head with this one. My wife is an educator andis buying him his first tablet for Christmas. Great idea!

I'll be home for both: what I'll do is put it off and out it off Til it's way too late, then spend way too much $$ because if I'm not thoughtful-at least I'll be generous lol
but it's all true. I'm not a very good gift giver, I have a bad memory for things people have casually mentioned or given me subtle hints about.
Also: the vast majority of folks I am close to and would get something for, if they wanted it; they'd have gone out and gotten it themselves. I'm the same way. When asked what I want the answer is the same 10 years running: ankle socks, boxers, undershirts and Tshirts- all white, all cotton.b l a c k b e a r d Thanks this. -
I'll be home for both. My company makes sure those are 2 they get us in for.
Wife does all all the shopping. No way I could beat the coupon queen for saving dollars lol and since she doesn't work she has plenty of time to take care of the buying.
Now as far as her gift goes....I always listen to the hints she drops during the year. Hers is usually bought some time way before Christmas and rides around in the truck with me until I get in the day or so before. If I stashed it at home she'd find it. I'm home weekends so I usually buy for her on Sunday while she's at church once I decide what she's getting.b l a c k b e a r d Thanks this. -
I am home for both and I shop online for everything anymore .
I have only missed one Christmas in 34 years !!That is because my kids were grown so I let a guy with young ones have my load out of California going to Illinois so he could be home and I took one to Florida.
So I spent Christmas day in Arizona with my best friend from high school and his family .
Then I spent new years eve in Florida .
Both were in the 60's and it was -10 at home soI wasn't complaining to much !!!b l a c k b e a r d Thanks this.
