....sure rub it in...lol! in response to (70° today in big spring tx, took my motorcycle out for a ride...)
cmbks21, unloader and postmandav Thank this. -
skip the expensive under armour....
you can buy 8 pairs of thermals for 1 pair of those, and they will keep you warmer... the wind cuts right through the armours.
A good exterior coat, a quilted lined carhart.
A set of carhart bib coveralls, wool socks, glove liners, hardhat liner, face cover, carhart makes a nice one that is FR, and ski googles, keeps the blowing snow out of your eyes. -
Or you can buy a pair of coveralls at Walmart for $60.00.Ray wears his to work everyday now that Winter here has finally arrived and he says they keep him really warm.He also has this hat that all flaps with fur and it really keeps his head warm. Its also a hat hunters wear which you'll find in any sporting store.
-
But...none of that is FR.
-
Lol it's actually snowing in West Texas right now. It's not exactly North Dakota or Wyoming cold, but plenty chilly for this area.
-
Yea. Yesterday 70° today 28 and snowing in a day or two itll be back up in the 60s. ..... stupid
-
FR is a rip off, but required, like so many government regulations... the chemical that makes the cloth FR washes out in less than 10 washes with regular laundry detergent.
-
True, but it is required on most locations. I'm told there is an additive that you can add to your detergent to renew it?
-
That's why you buy Nomex3A , it's a FR material not a chemically treated fabric. Nomex is fire retardent for its lifetime not just unt the chemical treating loses its effective FR rating.
nomex is more $$ but not that much different.
