They have a catch all phrase in the add " guaranteed when job expectations are met." That should be your tip off right there. Gives them all the excuses they could ever want to take advantage the the driver. Run like hell is after you.
Consensus on *guaranteed* weekly base pay?

They will impose a very strict home-time allowance. And when you get home, you will literally be counting the hours before you are required to log back in to maintain your eligibility for the guarantee. I'd rather work for a company that can keep me busy, regardless, without having to resort to medicocre "salary guarantees"
semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
Salary Guarantees are a good idea IF the requirements are reasonable. Best advise about any company would come from the drivers currently driving for them. Beware of the driver who talks trash to get you to sign on so he can get his "newbie signon" bonus. They can be as bad as recruiters.

Some will point to the bad companies and say they're the reason but those companies are just taking advantage of the situation and gullible people. Some blame the megas but some of the worst offers I've ever had came from those Godly small mom and pop companies. To me this industry is simple, do your research, do your time and apply to the top companies when you can. I make great money but I didn't start off this way. Also, for some people its not a matter of money but the lifestyle. You know I was a Trainer and I can tell you first hand that some people will never make it in this Industry.
But for all that there will also be those who were so mistreated that they will run not walk away and never look back, and that's a shame but it's probably the same in most industries.Lefty1, Jrdude5, Dark_Majesty_06 and 4 others Thank this. -
The biggest thing for us was, (using the driver's pay at the top of the mileage pay scale), the company only had to make sure we got 1833 miles for the week to met the minimum salary. After that, the company had no incentive to give that driver more miles (so we were not going to see 2500-3000 mile weeks anymore) and a lot of the drivers figured out they could lay around, deliver near the end of the 24 hour windows, in essence do as little as humanly possible, and the company would HAVE to pay them the "minimum guaranteed salary".
Would it surprise me if the company revisits the idea? No, but I believe they would have a more comprehensive rules and policies package that appeared well-thought out, instead of coming across as someone's knee-jerk reaction to a problem that doesn't exist. -
So since you asked specifically about veriha I suppose that I can answer. There are some conditions. First you have to have at least 5.5 days per week but they court a full day worked as being any day that you have at least 4 hours of on duty. Secondly and this is the one that gets the most people you can't have more than 48 hours of home time. If you exceed this its mileage. You can't refuse any loads and your pay rate isn't based on years of experience but by credentials. Top pay is .45 cents and you need to have at least 2 credentials i.e hazmat and a twic card. As for overall pay its based on a 2500 mile week and obviously if you get more miles that's the pay you get.

I have a guaranteed minimum pay as well I have to be payed 40hrs in 4 days whether I work them or not so that puts me at $804 a week minimum pay. That pay is guaranteed for Monday Wednesday Thursday Friday I have Saturday Sunday Tuesday off. Most of the time I work Tuesday. That day is payed at x1.5 pay. If I work Saturday which I do now and then it's at x2 pay
