Here's what nobody else has said, which there is a chance that might be the OP's question. If you are installing something like a Rand McNally that you want to use for electronic logging, it WON'T WORK with an old mechanical engine! To do that it needs to connect to the port to the engine and read all of the electronic sensors, which your engine is not cursed with. So you can plug a GPS into your lighter socket, and it will give you road directions, and can keep track of your driving time, but would not be acceptable for an Elog.

And part of me would also like to leave a smart butt reply like everyone else, but I have not had my morning coffee yet.

Any stand alone GPS will work so long as you have a DC connector available.

You would not be able to run an EOBR as these connect to the J bus.

If you need to run an EOBR, you could try the HD-100. This is just a suggestion since you cannot connect to the J bus.

When you purchase the HD 100, the included User Manual will walk you through the activation process on the Rand McNally Dock™. This will involve pairing your HD 100 with any one of the following:

    • Android tablet or smartphone
    • iPad or iPhone
    • IntelliRoute[SUP][SUP]®[/SUP][/SUP] TND™ 730, 530, or 720
(Recommended screen size 4.7" or larger.)
