there once was a girl from the Azores........................
-
My dad always wanted me to sing tenor , ten or twelve blocks away.
Cranky Yankee, HometimeQueen, jungHo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Pete, that sounds like an awesome opportunity during high school years! I sang every year during college in chorus. We traveled just before Christmas but just in the eastern parts of the US, singing about Jesus' birth. That's how this Carolina country girl first made it to NYC! I love singing and traveling. The Hallelujah chorus is an awesome musical. ....in Virginia Beach there was a group of nonprofessionals that would practice it a few times then do a performance, yearly thing, not necessarily all the same people each year.
I would love to sing that with a group one day....would be so exciting! !!!
Jay, about how many hours by bus to Rockwall? Hope you have a good trip and training goes well! -
It's about 10 hrs and thanksjungHo Thanks this.
-
You saying he opened a can of worms? Lol!!
So I'm wondering, what are your hours? You appear to like to drive night or early morning hours. Did Cassidy adapt to that schedule when she rode with you? I bet you are much like George often is at hometime....sleeping a lot to make up for lost or broken rest. I know you're glad to at last be rolling again after yesterday.
George rolled out of Dakota City, NE at 4:30 am and has to stop by the yard at Olathe to have work done on his Treq. Some of the keys won't work....guess they're on strike from over abuse.
gntorres61 and jaso37 Thank this. -
Good luck jay! We're all pulling for you!
gntorres61 and jungHo Thank this. -
How's it going, Jay? I'd almost rather a 10 hr bus ride compared to my afternoon. Had to get groceries. I hate grocery shopping! (Yep, competing for biggest whiner!!!)
Think about it: put groceries in the cart, on the belt for checkout, in the car, take them in the house, then put them away! So obnoxious!!! I know some of you are thinking, "that's easy work!" Yep, yep, it sure is, but it isn't enjoyable one little bit! Anyone else like that?
Course, the grass is almost always greener on the other side until you get there and find out othewise. See, if I were on a long bus ride, for a while anyway, I'd be enjoying the countryside (while it's daylight), reading, maybe listening to some music (with headphones, of course), playing games on my tablet..... however, in your defense & reality, Jay, I bet you're a bit tired of sitting there. Hope you aren't real tall or your legs will be jammed in the seat. Not much for entertainment here, but at least it's a post for you to read! Hope you get to stretch your legs soon!dennisroc Thanks this. -
It's a very boring ride just been talking to this other guy who is going to orientation with me he says he is going to lease
-
Jay, you will enjoy Cornell Collins the master of ceremonies at orientation. He is entertaining and a good teacher. Real good guy. TransAm ought to be proud of him. A lot of paperwork to fill out, and he will go over the handbook chapter 7 and 11. He makes it fun. You will get work on the treq box. The main source of communicating between yourself and dispatch. You will also get a lease presentation. Don't let the 84 cpm tempt you, but you draw your own conclusions. When I went, we stayed at the Best Western in Rockwall. They do have an indoor pool. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Whataburger was the closest. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast. Nice hotel. I enjoyed my 3 day orientation with TA. After that they sent me on a 3 dropper to Florida. I had six weeks.solo experience with Abilene Motor Express. Best of luck, Jay!!
dennisroc Thanks this.
