How many miles per year have you all averaged? Five years ago used TransAm trucks were in the $30,000 to $40,000 range.
Let's say a truck averaged 137,557 miles per year. A .03cpm bonus would be $4,127 dollars ....per year
Now let's say you were lucky and averaged 3000 miles per week for 51 weeks out of the year, that would be 153,000 miles and a yearly bonus of $4590.
As Pete always says ....do the math.
This is an example of their prices now -

The excess miles charge is applied to all miles over 3500 miles per week. Leasing is far from easy. They make a great pitch during orientation and it manages to put stars in the eyes of at least half the newbies in each class. I've been drug to hell and back in my lease. I've had good weeks, bad weeks, and weeks where I just want to drive the truck off a cliff.
Met a new lease driver on the yard today. Real nice guy. I pointed him this way so that he can benefit from the wealth of knowledge here. He came in with prior driving experience and only had the option to lease.
Today was a good day for me. I got from Oak Grove to the yard. I got my truck washed! Yay! My DM got a Tcall on my load so I don't have to get up at 0430 to deliver 12 miles away. I got my Chinese food at Happy Wok and bounced around the yard restocking on trip sheets and EFS checks. Leasing asked how Avett was doing and I showed them pictures and said she's doing great. At this very moment I'm at Kenworth. Hoping to get my coolant sensor replaced tomorrow since I think it's starting to go bad. I think I will be sitting in Olathe for a day or two. Planners are working hard to get lots of people home for Thanksgiving and it's highly likely I will be getting my hometime load from this area and possibly going home early. Looks like my miles are just shy of 2900 this week. Not bad for having a jacked up logbook!
No more late night grocery shopping for me. I intended to get some legit groceries and ended up with a lot of chocolate, Yoohoo, air fresheners that smell like Christmas and a buffalo steak. X__xHometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
I am glad that you had a good day, honeybadger
.....and lots of chocolate is a good thing!
dennisroc Thanks this. -
The problem with getting 8, 9, or even 10 hrs of sleep, when your not used to it, is that you can't go to sleep, when you really, really..... ought to!!!!!
.honeybadger., jungHo, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this. -
you mean like being up at 2am ready to roll
but the new truck is locked in the shop
that i cant get into until 6Panhandle flash and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
My favorite expression by new drivers about drivers who failed at leasing "They don't know how to run a truck". With no experience how do they know how to run a truck?
HB good to hear you are doing well.
Cranky are you whining about getting a new truck?
Be safe out theretruckertravis84, dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
