Superior Carriers 2013-2014

They finally got me ready around 13:00. $1200 but I saved them a tow bill getting to the TA before all my coolant boiled away.

Made it up here to the plant and they ran my 14 down to 45 minutes at 16:30. Fortunately they are letting me stay here in a dock for 10. Its pretty nice. Clean bathroom, lunch room with microwave, ice machine and free coffee. They even told me I could use the showers if I want to. Going to head out around 3 AM.

 

10/30-10/31

Got my load dropped into Brown Summit by 9 AM Friday and was home by noon. My son is in town so I was hoping to get a full weekend. They needed me to run another Dry Bulk N Chicago picking up Monday morning so its more like a 34 than a weekend off. I didn't ask for the extra day since I need to be home on the 10th for a wife dr appointment. Maybe this week I can get 2 good loads in before a 3 day weekend next week.

We must be busy they have the sign back up in front of the terminal hiring OTR drivers. Haven't heard of anyone quitting. They are building a huge addition to the Brown Summit plant. Maybe expecting an uptick in freight once that comes on line.

 

11/2-11/7

Good week. I did 2 N Chicagos one dry bulk and the other liquid in one of the fiberglass white tanks. Left Sunday morning on the first one. Got home Tuesday around 5 PM. Headed out Wednesday around 9 AM and got home Friday at 3:30 PM. Kathy has a Drs appointment Monday so its a 3 day weekend. They have me doing a Kreamer Pa load Tuesday. Its a shorter one. I should get home Wednesday evening. Hopefully they will have me load something Friday in either Plaquemine or N Chicago to finish out the week.

 

11/11-11/16

Probably looking at my worse week all year mileage and pay wise. I headed out Tuesday morning and got home Wednesday evening after a whopping 950 or so miles. Probably cash in a vacation day and a personal day so the check doesn't suffer too much. I expected to get a call for something else to finish out the week but it never came. I had Sunday scheduled to be off so that may be why. I didn't call to pester dispatch for a load and it has been nice having some extended home time.

Looks like I will be off Monday since I didn't get the call Friday afternoon so that's a 5 day weekend. I went and spent today with my Mom and Dad and am going to the Panther game with one of my best friends from high school tomorrow. Doing the full blown tailgate thing with a group of guys who have been tailgating in the same spot for 20 years.

They have the big cookers so I made up a bunch of atomic buffalo turds (ABTs). You take a jalapeno pepper, cut it in half and hollow it out. You then fill the cavity with a cream cheese/chedder mixture. Place a little smokey sausage on the cream cheese and wrap it in bacon. Once they get smoked a while on the grill they look like their name but are killer good.

11/18-11/21

I just got home from a Plaquemine run. Left Tuesday morning around 5 AM and got home this evening around 6 PM. They had me drop the load on the yard for a local guy to deliver.

I am heading back out Friday afternoon on a dedicated that I haven't done yet. I load in Blue Island Il sometime Sunday and head back to Brown Summit NC. The wrinkle on this load is the tank needs to be washed within 24 hours of loading. I will get it cleaned at our terminal in Markham Saturday on my break. If anyone is stuck there this weekend holler at me.

 

Probably. I should get back to the Yard Monday. I didn't specifically ask to be off but no companies are open Thursday. It is possible they will want me to load somewhere Wednesday which would mean getting home Thursday. If that is the case they will ask probably Monday if I can do that. Pretty good chance I will be off Tuesday and head back out after the Holiday. I don't have any big plans so I will just roll with it.

 

Turns out I have been to this plant a few times. The name is different but I found a directions card in my file with the same address. Hopefully they are not as slow as I remembered form a few years ago.
