Both mine were company abandonments down in FL. One driver just was fed up and the other one barely spoke English and was fed up. First thing I do when I get a new satellite or get in a new truck that isn't mine is be nosy and look through the inbox and sent messages LOL.

Dunno that I have special powers but I have my own special way of doing things. Sometimes I have to stop and wonder how I haven't gotten fired yet. But then I hustle to make early deliveries and such and give them a reason to keep me!

I'm finally out of KW. Here's hoping the issue was resolved. At least it was warranty work! Cause my maintenance account has been crying for weeks. I lost my Miami load. Current preplan is something picking up in Grand Island on the 23rd and first stop is in Little Rock on Monday. Nit sure what the rest of it is but I'm supposed to go home Wednesday. We'll see what Julie gets for me in the morning!

I understand how that could be a deal breaker. Hope you can find a situation that suits you, you would be good at recruiting. A driver would be lucky to have you as a contact.

I don't think you have to hold companies to a perfect standard. If you are in good faith, communicating with a driver on what is important to him or her (hometime, pet policy, pay, etc.) and matching him or her with a company that is not perfect but is also acting in good faith and fills the needs of the driver, I think you have done your job to a fair standard. Communicate the good, the bad and the ugly to the driver and allow them to make an adult decision. The rest is up to the company and driver to get along. IMHO

One of my recoveries was also out of Fla, other St. Louis. Funny thing about reading the messages, I can relate up to a point. I have had the same kind of exchanges, leading down a path of no return, pulled out of the fire at the last minute.

In the past, I have been on route to Olathe and had my plane ticket home booked, figuring I was going to be fired when I arrived ... lol. I was able to keep my job and cancel the flight. With Southwest airline cheap tickets, they will not refund your money, but can hold the money as "travel funds" to use at a later date. I like Southwest and their free bags policy, so I can always use a ticket at a later date.

When not making trouble with TransAm, I make it a point to hustle, always be on-time and generally be a good representative of TA ... just so the keep me around.

Finished my drop in Delaware Ohio and stuck at the end of the on ramp onto US 23 trying to make it up to Perrysburg. At an accident scene. Been here for an hour. Can't see as I am blocked by multiple big rigs. I think the swap is for tomorrow. At this rate, I MIGHT MAKE IT. Misery Loves Company. Everybody in their cars is texting. God, aren't we a self absorbed society. But hey, nothing better to do. Deuces.

Just catching up on the last few pages , a lot of good post and info as usual.

Really interested in the new people going to TA and their feedback. Must be an exciting time for them.

HTQ , I think the recruiter job is something you would be great at doing with your trucking knowledge , maybe something in that area will come up and be a perfect match for your skills.
You mentioned a list of company's that you think are good , would you by any chance have a list of the top 5 for students on your list ??? :biggrin_25514:

I hope all is going well for everyone on here !

    Take care

So far so good I can't complain TA seems to be a fair place to start at as a newbie. My main focus is to learn how to manage my time and adjust the weight then I will be fine

ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!!! why do dispatchers feel like they have to be a PITA sometimes? My crew works a half day on Sat., taking off at noon. I call in at 1130 about a load. Am told that we don't nnd have a load for you, you'll most likely be DHing back, I'll call you back at 1155 to let you know for sure. *shake my head helplessly, and just put head in hands.*
