So sorry, passport. I know that is extremely frustrating. I can imagine you are not happy with TA just now. Seems the trucking industry seriously needs to make some changes in pay directly regarding such long layovers! It really doesn't add up from tge story George was given..so many off Thanksgiving, blah blah blah. ..

passport220 and gntorres61 Thank this. -
That douche canoe is now in planning. I couldn't stand Luke. Good luck on your return!
I stopped by the truck today. Was very happy to see confirmation of the contractor holiday incentive pay. I also have a load for right after hometime. Picking up in Olive Branch MS which is a 450 mile deadhead for me. Pick up Monday afternoon, load due in Marietta by Tuesday night. Being a drop and hook I can run this hard and push to get decent miles for the fours days I'll be running next week. Y'all be safe and have a good Thanksgiving.dennisroc, gntorres61 and passport220 Thank this. -
You have every right to be ticked off. Your getting dumped on. There ate other carriers that will treat you better, even the megasdennisroc and passport220 Thank this.
-
Jaso is certainly correct but the sad fact is as the real world has a day off every carrier needs trucks staged in places when they reopen
77000 gross avg 7.6 from Winnemuca Nv to Sidney Ne with this new DD15 and 12 autoshift
never dropped her in manual to pull the hills even Donner the day beforepassport220 and dennisroc Thank this. -
besides calling me for splitting my log book he wasn't bad if you kindly put him in his place....ganoe on the other hand? she fits right in with the restpassport220 Thanks this.
-
Oh I put him in his place but there was nothing kind about it. The level of stupidity he generally displayed toward me was too great to reason or work with.
passport220 Thanks this. -
Happy Thanksgiving dear friends!
The Cranky One was correct again, I can indeed use my phone
....but it took me awhile to straighten out passwords.
You all can give thanks because my phone hates me so I won't be typing a lot!
Passport, the truth is that TransAm did not honor their word to give you a new .DM. and at this stage of the game you are just riding it out. It sucks and you are not being treated fairly at all. You all know how I feel about a daily minimum pay for drivers.....it would solve so many issues related to lousy dispatcher. My feeling about all of this is that you have not had a .DM in a long time. You have had an unqualified, inexperienced seat filler that resents your experience and knowledge. I hope she has to work a long12 hour shift today and deal with every driver that she has mismanaged all day long and that all of the good food is gone by the time she gets a break!passport220, jaso37, dennisroc and 1 other person Thank this. -
Happy Thanksgiving gang! Gotta delivery tomorrow of 45k of Dasani bottled water to the Coca Cola plant in Wichita. Stopped 69 miles short of paydirt at the Pilot in Tonkawa OK. Kinda of tired still from the night before run for the roses to Dallas. Sorry I missed Jaso at the Rockwall yard. We were both there, but I was zonked then he and Jay gotta delivery and left the yard. Darn! I called him later.
I would be remiss if I didn't say a special thanks to our armed forces and was fortunate to meet a veteran on Monday, who now drives a truck. We were both delivering to a paper plant in Fridley, Minnesota and it was about 13 degrees and a little wind, snow on the ground and the parking lot was icy. An African American man in his 40s, strong, handsome and very very nice man was limping across the snowy field toward the parking lot when he started to fall and caught himself on my hood mirror. Immediately I jumped out of the truck and rushed to his side and helped steady him. "Did you hurt your ankle," I questioned. "No", he responded. "Its my prosthetic leg, I had three tours to Afghanistan and I wasn't so lucky the third time," he recalled. "Let me help, " I reasoned and with that, Chris threw his left arm across my shoulders and I put my right arm around his back and off we shuffled across the parking lot through the ice, cold, and wind to the receivers office for him to check in and then back we went to his truck. I told him I use to ice skate and so "we gotta take shorter steps and keep our weight centered over our feet." Made it back to his truck and we shook hands and he thanked me. I said no, "Thanks for the sacrifices you made for our country. God Bless you, man." And we parted. Suddenly, the cold grey Minnesota fall day didn't seem so cold. Fine man Chris is. Just another great aspect of the job. Deuces.jaso37, jungHo, .honeybadger. and 3 others Thank this. -
Wifi at the aunts ...... sucks. Only 1G if I can find a tower. Oh well, at least I am enjoying myself. Glad to see our queen made it back. Passport, sorry it's sucking so bad. Cranky, your truck rocks.
dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this.
