Schneider has a lot going on in Indianapolis; maybe get something local or dedicated.
Old Dominion would probably be the best deal though. They hire new CDL grads from certain schools.
thinking about CDL training

Lots of jobs pay better then truck driver. If you are looking to get rich, truck driving probably isn't the best route to take.
You can make good money driving, if you play your cards right. But if it's the money that has you looking at truck driving as a career, you will probably wash-out. -- Many do. -
Not wanting to get rich , just want to be able to take care of my family , but not have to be away from the for weeks at a time.
-
I've never seen CDL A jobs that pay that poorly.. How could they ever get anyone? experienceed or not...
-
Not true at all. I started at $18 an hour with ovvertime after 40 straight out of school. Monday to Friday day shift. I also had an offer for $16 an hour and $20 an hour. I turned down the $20 because I would have to work nights and weekends, and they did not pay overtime, just straight time
-
lol....those low paying job are out there and drivers working for those companies are there voluntarily. Motivated drivers with all the endorsements don't work for low wages unless they just want to.
-
I don't know, Ive never seen local jobs, that require a CDL A with endorsements (any, not even all), that pay anything close to minimum wage.. I could be wrong, and will be the first to admit it if I am, but local CDL A gigs pay pretty darn well.. Granted, most of them are beverage or food service, but in my area they're tough jobs to get because guys don't leave them.. They hang on to them because the money and benefits are so good..
Again, i've never even seen a local CDL A job posted around here for under $16-$18 per hour and that's on the low end.. -
Its all about location. Rural areas pay a lot less. I have seen ads for dump truck drivers in rural areas for $9-$12 an hour. Also, . Dr pepper pays salary of about $100 a day in Chicago area
-
$100 per day plus commision. And are those dump trucks class B? Just curious. Maybe I'm in a decent area, but around here having a class A and a local gig means you're doing alright for yourself.
-
They were class A. Around here at Dr Pepper, you start without any commission, not sure how long you have to work there to get it,, and I have heard it is not great. Other than that lowest class A I Have seen in the area is $16 an hourDumdriver Thanks this.
