Crazy driver. I have a saying never try to figure out why a crack head does what they do, it will never make sense to us only other crack heads.

Like Jaso, I don't do favors for free unless it is to my benefit, either business or personal. Swaps going to Florida are pretty much free because I can milk hometime out of it either going in or out of FL, sometimes both. I will do free swaps if it gets me unstuck from somewhere. Otherwise I have to really like that other load better than what I'm under enough that I don't want to risk them passing on me. But if they want something done bad enough, they will pay. I'm shut down 49 miles from my first stop. Two stops in Orlando tomorrow then one in Davie Tuesday morning.
dennisroc, jaso37 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Picked up my beef load from Greeley CO around noon. At the J in Salina KS. The gps routing sent me east on I 70 to go back to Dallas via Ardmore OK for my fuel stop. 97 miles longer but about the same time. Started snowing but the Chain law was not being enforced so that eased my fear of getting stopped and ticketed. I guess like Jaso told me, its west of Denver going over Vail pass that they really enforce. Learn something new every day. Thats the fun of it. Deuces.
jaso37 Thanks this. -

noneHometimeQueen and gntorres61 Thank this. -
As Pete said, the only stretch of highway that you MUST carry chains is the one listed below. On all other Colorado highways if the roadside signs notify you that the chains are required you must either chain up or if you don't have chains you must pull over and stop..... you are not required to carry them on the truck, you just find a place to park.
The Colorado law changed a bit a few years ago. Now, truckers traveling specifically on I-70 between mile marker 133 in Dotsero County and mile marker 259 in Morrison County must carry sufficient chains to be in compliance from Sept. 1 through May 31. The state provides 21 chain-up locations along the I-70 corridor. If you get busted without chains on this stretch of road, you will be fined $50 plus a $17 surcharge.
And, if you violate Colorados chain law, youd better be ready to pay. You can be fined $500, plus a $79 surcharge, for not putting on chains when required. If you block the roadway because you didnt throw iron when the law was in effect, you can be dinged with a $1,000 fine, plus a $157 surcharge.jaso37, wulfman75, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Hey everyone, hope all is well.
Are company drivers still avg. 2500-2800 miles a week? Do they give quarterly fuel and safe driving bonus, what's the pay out? How long must you work with them before your eligible for benifits? Are you stuck at 30cpm the full year or how often and how much are the raises? What's the best phone service to go with over the road and does trans am employees receive discounuts for that or any phone service providers? Is there a sign on bonus? I will call and talk with the recruiter today but I know I'll get honest answers from you all. Thanks again. -
