I wonder if o/o get paid well in hirschbach. My friend works for hirschbach and his 2015 prostar is governed at 70 mph. He got cummins isx450 and ultrashift+ in his truck. When he had cascadia's, they governed him at 68 mph.

So russtrucker, you're so new a driver that you can't get hired by Hirschbach but you know so much! Let me tell you a few things.
Second hand knowledge is a dangerous thing.
There are no 'perfect' trucks. Not even brand new ones. You find one, let me know.
There are no magical lease programs that will make you rich.
Every company has rules you must follow. You want to make your own rules? Buy a truck outright, get your own authority and see how that works out for you.
No new driver should get into a lease, anywhere. You simply don't know enough about the industry.
As I said before, Hirschbach isn't perfect, nor is it for everyone. There is no company out there that can make every single person happy. It's impossible to do. We, as drivers, are too diverse a group. What works for me and makes me happy most likely won't be the same for you. I like money, the ability to say no to a load I don't like, and the freedom to change that oh so cast in stone fuel route. Yes, Hirschbach gives both lease and company drivers a fuel route that we are supposed to follow. Most of the time their route and what I would take on my own are the same. If I don't like a fuel stop I ask for a different place. Most of the time it's just not an issue. One truck stop is much the same as another, with a few exceptions. So honestly, I don't see what the big fuss is all about. OMG, Hirschbach gives you a route you MUST take.. except take out the MUST. People seriously, it's called a phone, or even better, a short note on the people net.
As for the rest of the issues with Hirschbach drivers I've seen stated here. Don't we have these same issues with drivers from just about every other company out there? Haven't you been the guilty party at times? Gods know I sure have been guilty a few times. None of us are perfect and we all have 'those' days.
Anyway, be good people, drive safe and Merry Christmas!Meltom Thanks this. -
I'm pretty close to perfect, but I'm having one of "those" weeks.
-
LMAO.. Heya Meltom! How's things going for you?
-
Holidays are the worst, too much milk to move not enough homes.
-
I'm going to enjoy my holiday this year. Going home to Phoenix for 5 to 7 days. Haven't decided yet. All depends on how much I'd like to make on the check after Christmas. The $750 'go home' money from the company will cover the truck so not too worried if I only get one trip in.
Meltom Thanks this. -
Hopefully, your "5 to 7 days" off didn't turn out to be 3 months because I have some questions for you and other Hirschback lessees.
I've been driving a while, all as a company driver, and both need and want the challenge plus the somewhat-increased flexibility that comes with driving under a lease. So far, I like what I've seen, particularly the 99.9 cpm fuel cost and the $750 'go home' money.
Can you explain a bit about the fuel price? I'm sure it has something to do with contract prices, which is probably why they give drivers a fuel solution, but I'm a little apprehensive about it; it's not a bad deal now, but what about when fuel was (and probably will be again) pushing $4.00 a gallon?
Do the drivers get the fuel surcharge? My guess is no, considering they're already getting a break on the price.
Is Herschbach a 'good' first lease? I know it's subjective and I'm not asking whether I should lease or not, in case any lease-hating troll reads this.
Are you happy with the maintenance aspect of the lease?
I hope you and others chime in.Last edited: Mar 16, 2015

Bloody hell, as my English grandmother would say. I don't qualify. Bummer. I liked what I heard about their lease program.
