I run 110 PSI in mine. I'm 12.3k on my steers full of fuel. On my truck they will develop cupping on the edges if I run them at anything less. I tried 100 PSI. Once the cupping starts,.. its impossible to get it to stop and wear evenly. Expensive lesson for me.
Hurst:smt111fargonaz Thanks this. -
For what it's worth I run Michelin XZA3+ on my steers and nothing else. I'll get an easy 175K on this set. Had 190K on the last set and lost a shock or they would've gone 200K no problem. For drives I'm running Hankook DL11. I've got about 180K on them and they'll go 300K unless something stupid happens. I'll probably run the Hankook's again as I've been impressed with them. Used to run XDN2's for drives but those things are a bit too rich for me without the discount I used to get being leased on to a company.

I agree with the Hankook for drives. I got a stupid deal on Yoko's or I would have gone with the Hankook again. I dont think these Yoko's are going to last as long as my Hankook. Hankook makes a poor steer tire,.. didnt last for me. But for the money I agree. I have the DL07 on my rear drive axle right now and have 350k on them. I fully expect to see another year or two out of them.
Also agree 100% on the XZA3. I wish they werent directional,.. would make rotating them a bit easier. But when a steer tire will last 200K+ mi,.. I'm a buyer.

Xza3 is only directional for 30k or so then you can swap directions .. It's only for the break in period that it matters .. Straight from michelin rep ..I've had no wear issues swapping after break in period on last truck.. On this one wear is even and same side to side so I don't see the point of swapping yet

For what it's worth, I run my steers at 110 and drives at 100. Got an older 9900ix with a 14K steer axle so I gotta keep them pumped up a bit or the steering gets a bit squishy on rough roads

I got this in July, new drives on the market, BF Goodrich 454 (low RR about 100, I believe?!) ; not very expensive and my last set of drives was BF 444, lasted 450k miles; running team, I have 90,000 already, seems ok; on steer I use Michelin xza3+ only;

I'm currently running Hankook AL11 steers and have 90k miles on them with 11/32 tread left and no irregular wear or cupping running them at 110psi. I'll replace them with the same when they finally wear out. As for drives I've always had good luck with the Bridgestone M726EL. They are expensive tires but wear like iron easily get 300k miles with proper care. I replace shocks all the way around every 100k miles and full alignment once a year. Maybe overkill but works well for me.

You can rotate at half tread. The directional is only good for the first half of life due to the micro sipes.

i could give a rats behind about r/r i just can recognize the tread patterns that work well for me, and i look at ply ratings, i run heavy and ill take grip over a extra 1/10th of a mpg so many other things affect my fuel millage more than my tires.
