Another question. What type of Tripac APUs are on these trucks? Are they regular Tripacs or are they Evolutions and what is the difference between the two (if any) ?

Anchor bank, older trucks have tripacs, the newer ones have the evos. I dont really see a difference besides the size and control panel for it
-
Will be nice to have a truck with a working APU. Looking forward to working with good equipment again. Don't know how much you take that for granted till you get into bad equipment.
Safari Joe Thanks this. -
Yup. Working APUs, new trucks, trailers and freight. 67-68 mph, they will idle (and required to idle) below zero so you don't gel in the winter and will idle above 95 in the summer.

Oh yeah. Always helps not to whine and create a scene in the office when you don't get your way. Not saying you will big cat, but some have.....

How much drop and hook do you guys do, compared to live loads and unloads? Give me an estimated percentage of each.
-
I heard that guy is on his 4th company in less than a year.
Guess someone can't handle the miles.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
I'm going to be completely honest and tell you that we don't have a lot of drop and hook. We have some, but not a lot. It's a smaller reefer company and drop and hook isn't really all that viable sometimes.
-
Oh I can tell you a story....

I have to say that I'm not totally a big proponent of drop & hooks. Sure, they save time and can really help you rack up miles, but if you are with a company that doesn't care much for trailer maintenance, or has quite a few drivers who don't care, you can end up going through "hell" with getting bad trailers. Nothing more frustrating than having a brand new, or nearly new trailer, in great condition, and dropping it for a piece of crap that probably hasn't seen the shop since it was manufactured. Of course I'm exaggerating a bit, but any experienced driver knows what I'm talking about. Sometimes I just prefer to do live loads/unloads and keep my good trailer.KiLLaZiLLa93, joseph1135, 123456 and 1 other person Thank this.
