We live many states from Illinois but in October my wife in her car was driving in Chicago on the Toll Way, paying all the tolls we saw. About 40 days later we got a letter saying we missed 5 gates and own $7 in tolls and $100 in fines. They sent the letter to my wife. I may or may not ever drive a truck in Illinois. How do you see this situation?

Do they have pictures of the missed gates? It's probably easier to just pay and forget about it.

Unlikely it'll affect your chances getting a trucking.Even though your wife accidentally missed the tolls trk drivers deliberately miss tolls all the time, im quilty of it way more then once. But better pay the fine before it keeps going up.

if you are not licensed in Illinois ignore the letter

Our company had a guy take the 90 from 290 to the Wisconsin line and not stop to pay the toll at any of the gates, got a hefty 500 dollar fine. The boss paid it, never did hear what the consequences would have been had they not paid the bill.

Pay the man. There's plenty of advance warning of a toll coming up. Sorry, it's not going to "go away".
slim shady Thanks this. -
As a resident of Illinois, I suggest you pay the toll. However, give them a call and see if they'll just completely remove it since you paid the other tolls. Its worked for me. Tell them its Christmas and it could be your Christmas gift from the Great State of Illinois. LOL

I bet you missed some of the toll gates on the main part that have I pass to the left and cash tolls to the right.
