Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Thought I was going to be home until Monday. I need to quit thinking. I will be leaving Saturday evening to dead head up to Madison Ga for a drop and hook going back to Richmond for Sunday night/Monday morning. That's cool, it's not like I am lacking in the time off department.

Hope everyone has a safe wonderful Christmas. For those not home and out driving, please be safe, you all are in our thoughts and prayers. For those back in Richmond in our office, the same goes for you folks also, as tough as it is, thank you all for working to get everyone home for the holiday.

 

Can't wait to leave tomorrow afternoon, maybe I can get a little rest. Did anyone see me acting like a total fool on national TV yesterday? My wife and I were at the Miami Heat game right behind the visitors bench.

Just looked at my final numbers for this past year. A little over $62K and a great number of days off. That number includes a little training and a team run. For OTR the number is good, but there's a lot more than just miles for me, it's the home time, people I work with and for, and the equipment I drive. Granted I was fortunate not to have any breakdowns this year and only had one blowout and 3 other tires replaced on a trailer I picked up. I believe that once you figure out the system, the lanes to run in and when to be in Richmond, anyone else can do the same. If I take out the training in my numbers, my earnings are $58K. I'm happy, fat and very grateful. Let's all hope 2015 is just as safe and profitable for us all.
