Haha I love these posters who register and do one post only, usually "I'm a FELON WITH SIX CONVICTIONS FOR FORCIBLE RAPE CAN I GET A JOB PLEASE HELP" or "HELLO FRIENDS I ACCIDENTALLY SMOKED FOUR BLUNTS AND AM WONDERING IF I SHOULD GO TO ORIENTATION."
OP: just make sure you're past the 90 day mark for all substances. And for the love of god, don't do drugs as a driver. A random drug test; or worse , a post accident , can and will hit you at any time with no prior notice. It happened to me when somebody crashed into my truck at 55 MPH at 1 Am. It wasn't my fault, but did anyone care? No. Luckily, I'm not a drug smoker so I passed it. Since this is your first post, it would have been even more hilarious if your user name was "willipassmydrugtest" Still waiting for someone to use that one.

They can report anything they want to FMCSA / DAC. It's their tiny dollars wasted getting you on the property / recruitment / housing and whatever else they deem fit too their agenda. With respect to your post, It's not a one size fits all general rule.
Recruitment is big business with mega carriers . On site lab technicians to in house Doctors. They spend well to get great in house people.
Truck drivers is the bread and butter, Not freight, cattle coming in and burn who ever test positive. -
This is actually a serious issue, I guess the driver that killed those college students in Oklahoma who were going back to Texas was higher than #### all and they found a loaded bong and baggies full of schedule 3 prescription pills in his sleeper. So if you have to ask what kind of drug screen they give you, find another line of work. My family drives on the same road as these dopers and drunks and if something like that ever happened to them I would get to the person responsible one way or another. ZERO Tolerance Change your life or your career choice.

I think they do UA's. Passing and getting in doesnt mean you're good to go. Like the other driver said one little fender bender and you WiLL be going straight to the hospital for a UA,possible blood and or breathalyzer.Your fault or not. Lawyers will tear you up in court with any trace of drugs in your system. Yes if someones hurt, they will file Manslaughter charges. Just have to abstain for as long as your a driver.

A hair test is not recognized as an acceptable method of testing under FMCSA. It's not recognized by DOT for drug testing purposes. Therefore if they report a failure for drugs in a hair test to DAC they would legally be wrong. The regulations do not allow hair tests.
-
That doesn't apply as DAC is not ran or even recognized by the fmcsa. It's a private company and if the company wants to pay the money than can put anything they wish on it.

There's a lot of vitriol in this thread. I agree that people interested in trucking should be clean, but I wondered the same thing about my previous job application for a perfectly valid reason: I usually shave my head, especially in the summertime, and I wanted to know if I should let it grow for a few weeks to avoid having to get... other hair clipped. Point is, don't just jump to conclusions and assume anyone wondering about drug tests is an addict. For all you know, he had a moment of clarity, turned his life around 89 days ago, got his CDL in three weeks, and is looking at job prospects. Or shaves his head.

I talked to a Maverick recruiter in May of this year. At that time he did tell me that they do the hair test.
dashaker Thanks this. -
I'd be more worried at which rubber glove they put on for your physical, the wrist length or the shoulder length.
